🧺 About the weaving workshop:
Join Wendy and Kylie for a hands-on weaving workshop celebrating the ancient craft of basket weaving, practiced on this land for tens of thousands of years. They will demonstrate how to find and prepare native materials while guiding participants through traditional Wiradjuri techniques of weaving. Wendy and Kylie, mother and daughter, are proud Wiradjuri women with ancestral links to the Lithgow and Gulgong regions. For more than fifty years their family has lived on Dharawal speaking Country, learning from and sharing with Dharawal Elders. Both women are deeply committed to keeping this cultural knowledge alive, passing down the art of weaving as a connection between Country, family and story, a living tradition nurtured through the generosity of Wiradjuri and Dharawal Elders.

This year TAFFI will be held over 2 big days!

🩵 Day 1 - Clinical Conference for Health Professionals, TGD community and support. There will be no markets or entertainment, this is a day of information only

🩷 Day 2 - TAFFI main festival for everyone - Entertainment, Market stalls, TAFFI talks and lived experience panels - Medical talks will be held on Day 1

So, what exactly is TAFFI? It's a festival for our Trans and Gender Diverse community including Freinds and Allys. There will be dedicated workshops and panels. Along with Market stalls offering trans products such as binders, badges and all sorts of wonderful items as well as essential services which are Trans inclusive. Live entertainment and a dedicated youth area, come along and enjoy a day of celebration and colour. 🎶🤹🏼‍♀️🥳

🌈 Do you have a stall you would like to host at TAFFI this year? We are calling all Trans owned stall holders and LGBTQIA+ themed stall holders, we would love to have you come and participate in the biggest Trans Festival this side of the Equator.

Are you under 24, trans or gender diverse, and love to design? This is your chance to leave your mark! The Illawarra Shoalhaven Gender Alliance (ISGA) is on the hunt for a fresh new logo that reflects our vibrant community – and your work could be the one chosen.
