đźš« MYTH: 'People with disability don't want relationships'

We hear this one a lot — and it's wrong.

Every week, we have adults walk into a Date-Ability room genuinely excited to learn how to:
đź’› Make friends
đź’› Hold a conversation
đź’› Recognise when someone's interested (or when they're being unkind)
đź’› Set boundaries
💛 Eventually — find a partner

The difference isn't whether people with disability WANT relationships. They do. The difference is that very few have ever been taught the HOW.

That's what Date-Ability teaches. 11 weeks. NDIS-funded. Term 3 starts 30 June.

PERTH - this is the last chance for Date-Ability before we take a break in your fine state.

If you have someone wanting to do Date-Ability in Perth this is the final call. We are running Kwinana and Beechboro in July and then no more programs until 2027. Dont start calling me in August asking about our next date..

Kwinana has only a few more spots available!

I’ve got a question about…
Social events
How do I stay safe and still have fun?

Safety can be simple and planned
Know your transport plan
Have a check-in person
Keep your phone charged
Take breaks when you need to

Try this:
Make a 3-step safety plan
Who I’m going with / who knows I’m there
How I’m getting home
What I’ll do if I feel uncomfortable
You deserve fun and safety.

🌟 Meet the Heartbeat of FS Academy: Tayla! 🌟
Six months in and Tayla has officially become the engine room of FS Academy. As our Admin Manager, she's the person who makes the magic happen behind the scenes—and trust us, there's a lot of magic.

From the moment someone calls with an enquiry to their last interaction with us, Tayla is there making sure everything runs like a well-oiled machine. New enrolments? Smooth. Onboarding? Seamless. Support coordinators needing help? Already sorted. Nothing is too hard, and nothing falls through the cracks on her watch.

With a warm smile, solutions-focused energy, and attention to detail that's honestly impressive, Tayla is often the first voice people hear from FS Academy. And that first impression? It sets the tone for everything that follows.
Here's to the person who keeps us all organised, supported, and moving forward. We're so lucky to have you on the team, Tayla! đź’™

I’ve got a question about…
Rejection
How do I cope without spiralling?

Rejection hurts — and it’s still not a measure of your worth
Sometimes it’s about timing, preferences, or readiness.
You can feel sad and still be okay.

Try this 10-minute reset:
Drink water
Message a safe person
Do one grounding thing (music, walk, shower)
Then remind yourself: “I’m still lovable.”

Consent is about respect, communication, and being heard. đź’™

Whether it's in relationships, friendships, or daily life, everyone deserves to have their boundaries honoured. It's not just a word—it's about making sure both people feel safe, valued, and understood.

At FS Academy, we believe consent conversations are essential for building healthy, respectful relationships. If you'd like to explore this further, our Relationship Skills 1:1 or Date-Ability group programs are here to help.

Your voice matters. Your boundaries matter. You matter. ✨
