Safety tool or bad parenting? 🇦🇺

A growing number of Australian parents are using child safety harnesses or “child leashes” in crowded public places like shopping centres, airports, festivals, and busy city streets.

Supporters say they help prevent young children from running into traffic, getting lost, or disappearing in large crowds — especially with energetic toddlers.

Critics argue children should not be treated “like pets” and believe parents should rely on supervision instead.

The debate is becoming more common online, with many Aussie parents divided over whether safety should come before social judgment. 🇦🇺

👍 YES — If it keeps children safe, parents should use them
