It's Mindfulness May, and we wanted to share more on one of its most fundamental practices...OBSERVING THOUGHTS.

Observing thoughts is a fundamental practice in mindfulness. It involves neutrally watching your thoughts and feelings as they arise, without trying to change or judge them. Imagine it like watching clouds float by on the sky β€”each cloud representing a thought or emotion. The observer doesn't interfere with the flow or attach stories to the cloud itself. When you practice mindfulness, you pay full attention to what’s happening within and around you, moment by moment, without judgment. You observe your thoughts, feelings, and sensations of taste, touch, smell, sight, and sound.

Practicing mindfulness can significantly enhance your well-being and reduce stress. Here are some practical steps to get started:

⏰ Start with a daily routine: Set aside a specific time each day for mindfulness practice. Consistency matters, so choose a time that works for you and stick to it. Whether it’s morning, lunch break, or before bed, make it a habit.

🧘 Understand mindfulness as a way of perceiving: It’s not just an activity; it’s a way of observing and being present. Use various tools like meditation, exercises, and focused breathing to develop mindfulness.

πŸ“ˆ Commitment is key: Before you begin, commit to the practice. Some studies suggest that consistent engagement leads to better results. So, stay committed and give it some time. Don't feel like you have to be perfect. Just start and keep going. Start small, and gradually expand your practice. The results overtime will come from small incremental changes.
