We often think of freedom as having no restrictions, no responsibilities, or being able to do whatever we want.

But I believe there’s another kind of freedom.

The freedom that comes when we begin to recognise the patterns, habits, beliefs and identities that may have been shaping our choices sometimes without us even realising it.

Because sometimes freedom isn’t about escaping your life.

It’s about having the freedom to choose how you want to live it.

The Journey of Unbecoming...

Every version of myself had been trying to keep me safe in the only way it knew how.

There is no shame in that.

In fact, I have so much compassion for the woman I used to be.

She carried me through some incredibly difficult seasons.

But there came a point where surviving was no longer enough.

I wanted to live.

And living required something different.

Not becoming someone new...

But by thanking those protective parts for everything they had done... to help me survive the only way I knew how.
..and allowing them to finally be released as they were no longer needed.

Beneath every layer I release, I find more of my authenticity.

43 feels different somehow. 🎉

Does anyone else feel like they go through a death and rebirth when you turn a year older?

Maybe it’s the fact that I’m no longer using alcohol to numb myself or cover up pain or unprocessed emotional wounds.

Perhaps it’s that I am finally respecting, nurturing and listening to my body more. 🫶

Or that I have learnt not to be hell bent on seeking approval or external validation to feel liked, accepted or worthy.

Instead of analysing everything, doubting myself and wondering if ‘I’m good enough’
I trust wholeheartedly and lead with ‘how I feel’. 🧡

It’s might be an insignificant year to most,
but for me 43 feels Brand new,

like I’ve stepped out of a black n white movie

and into 🌈 a colour one.

I am so excited to see where this next chapter of life takes me…
