Well, this is a little bit exciting! đŸ’ƒđŸŒ

My first article in my new Nourished in Real Life series is officially in print in the September edition of the Caloundra Chronicle.

My first article, The Truth About Your 3 pm Slump, explores why that familiar afternoon crash might not be a willpower problem at all. Sometimes, it’s worth looking at whether your body has received enough nourishment earlier in the day.

Seeing my words, my work and my face printed in a local publication feels pretty special and perhaps a little surreal!

If you spot a copy, turn to page 61 and have a read. And if your own 3 pm slump feels a little too familiar, my free guide will help you begin exploring what may be behind it.

The guide is linked in my bio and in the comments.

If your 3 pm craving happens most days, simply removing the chocolate won’t tell you why it keeps happening.

When I work with a client, I don’t look at one food in isolation or hand her another rule to follow.

I look at the full picture: what she eats, how much she eats, whether her meals satisfy her, the demands of her day and how she feels when the craving arrives.

That’s where the useful information is.

Because once we understand the pattern, we can make changes that support her actual life — not just tell her to try harder tomorrow.

My free guide is the perfect place to begin exploring your own pattern.

A craving isn’t your body telling you that you’ve failed.

It might be telling you that lunch wasn’t quite enough, that you’ve gone too long without eating or that your meals haven’t been satisfying.

It might also show up when you’re tired, stressed, bored or finally taking a breath after a busy day.

And sometimes, you simply want some chocolate, which is allowed! đŸ«

The important part is becoming curious about the pattern instead of automatically blaming yourself.

My free guide will help you explore what might be happening behind your 3 pm sweet cravings and some simple steps to help.

Part 3 of 3: Why this matters to me 💗

These past few weeks have reminded me that nourishment needs to work in real life — especially when life is messy, exhausting or asking more from us than usual.

And that is exactly why I do what I do.

I help women over 40 stop fighting their bodies and start understanding them.

Not through another rigid meal plan.

Not by waiting for the ‘perfect’ Monday to begin.

And certainly not by expecting life to remain calm and organised.

Through personalised nutrition coaching, we explore what is happening in your body, your eating patterns and your actual life. Then we find realistic ways to help you feel more energised, comfortable in your own skin and confident around food.

Because you deserve to enjoy food without the guilt, confusion or feeling that you need to start over every week.

If you would like to know what personalised support could look like for you, book a free 30-minute consultation through the link in my bio.

Or, if 3 pm cravings are where you need to begin, download my free guide: Why You’re Craving Sugar at 3 pm (and It’s Not Your Willpower).

You don’t need more rules. You may just need support that begins with you. 💕

Part 2 of 3: What I’m eating when my capacity is low 💛

Right now, I need food that is simple, delicious and easy on my brain.

That has looked like:

đŸ„ Smoothies with fruit, protein powder, soy milk and plenty of seeds for fibre.

đŸ„— BBQ chicken with a bagged salad.

đŸ„Ș Simple sandwiches filled with whatever I have available.

Nothing fancy. No complicated meal prep. Just nourishing food I can put together without asking too much of myself.

Because eating well doesn’t have to mean cooking everything from scratch or producing an impressive plate.

Sometimes the most supportive meal is the one that is easy enough to actually make and satisfying enough to eat.

If you need more low-capacity meal ideas, check out my latest blog through the link in my bio.

When a client tells me she reaches for chocolate every afternoon, the chocolate isn’t the first thing I focus on.

I want to understand what happened before she reached for it.

Was breakfast enough?
Did lunch genuinely satisfy her?
How long had she gone without eating?
Was she physically hungry, mentally exhausted or simply looking for a moment of relief?

Removing the chocolate might change what she eats.

It doesn’t necessarily explain why the craving is there.

That is why I prefer curiosity over another food rule.

My free guide, Why You’re Craving Sugar at 3 pm (and It’s Not Your Willpower), will help you begin exploring your own pattern.

Part 1 of 3: How I’m supporting myself when life is a bit s**t 🙃

I won’t pretend everything is fine right now, because it isn’t.

So, I’m trying to give myself more of what I need and less pressure to hold everything together perfectly.

That looks like:

💛 Rest, without telling myself I should be doing more.

💛 Nourishing food that fits the capacity I actually have, not the imaginary version of me who has endless energy to cook.

💛 Letting my beautiful friends and family surround and support me.

None of it makes the hard stuff disappear. But it helps me feel a little more supported while I move through it.

If food feels like one more thing to manage right now, my latest blog is about eating well when you don’t have endless capacity. You’ll find it through the link in my bio.

Sometimes looking after yourself isn’t about doing more.

Sometimes it’s about making things a little easier. 💛
