What a week of learning 🩷
I created an event called The Road to Here — a women’s circle about the many versions of ourselves, the road we’ve walked, and recognising the woman we are now. It was officially my first women’s circle event, so there were a lot of feelings!
It was yesterday.
I booked it on the same day as my Learn to Relax event. The plan to have the Woman's Circle in the morning and the Learn to Relax in the afternoon. I paid for the room for the whole day and sent *The Road to Here* out into the world.
A trust piece, an expense that I would pay regardless of numbers and knowing I would learn a lot along the way. My approach was to say yes and then create and trust the process.
The marketing campaign was one month prior to the event and
in the last week, I had only one woman booked in. She has done other work with me, so I was quite chuffed.
And then no one else booked.
Last week was a roller coaster of learning as I contemplated cancelling the Event. I didn’t want her to feel awkward, and, to be honest, I felt like I had failed.
Then, right at the last minute, a second booking appeared. My first thought was, “Oh God, now I HAVE to do it.”
It wasn’t about the preparation. I had that sorted. It was about doing something new, a new event style, showing more of me and then self-doubt creeping in, and wondering if I should quit completely. So I had to dig deep. Really deep.
There is a beautiful concept that if you can’t believe in yourself, you can borrow the belief that someone you respect or loves you has in you.
I realised that the two women who had booked believed in me and what I could offer them. They were giving up two hours of their Sunday morning to come to my event. That inspired me to turn up and be me.
AND it was amazing.
AND I am so grateful to the two women who shared the space with me.
Our circle was a triangle, which my beautiful Mother Out Law, Annette, reminded me in a chat later that day ,is a very special symbol in spirituality.
I had a beautiful evening with Chris after running two events and had a chance to reflect on what I’ve created over the last few months.
This Event and learning will be a reflection piece for me anytime I feel doubt. Anytime I feel like I'm not good enough.
Today I have a calmness that is hard to explain, an internal knowing that everything I am doing is perfect and in alignment with my heart and the learnings that are part of life.
So so grateful 🩷
