"There's no such thing as "simple" ADHD."

Dr Charlotte Rydstrand, Psychiatrist at Ponti Health, breaks down why women are so often misdiagnosed

ADHD can look like a lot of things, and a lot of things can look like ADHD. That's exactly why a proper assessment matters.

At Ponti Health, we don't box symptoms into hyperactivity or inattentiveness and call it done. We do full psychiatric assessments that look at the whole person, particularly for women, where ADHD is so often missed or diagnosed later in life.

Your context. Your childhood. Your experience at school, at work, in relationships. ADHD often sits alongside other co-occurring conditions, ones that sometimes need to be treated first. In treating those, the symptoms attributed to ADHD can sometimes be alleviated.

This is exactly why getting the right diagnosis matters so much.

Sit with someone who looks at the whole picture, not a narrow version of it.🤍

Real talk, real numbers: the Medicare Safety Net check-in you didn't know you needed 💸

Once your out-of-pocket medical costs hit the threshold for the year, Medicare starts covering more; for example, a $500 consult with $300 out-of-pocket could suddenly cost you closer to $100.

Yes, we know logging into myGov and Medicare can be frustrating, but please do it anyway.
Individual cardholders are auto-registered, but if you're on a family card, you will need to register via MyGov/MyMedicare.

This is your tax money coming back to you - don't leave it on the table 🤲🏼

In this episode of Your Mind, Your Health, Dr Jennifer Lam (Women's Health GP) and Dr Gaurav Tandon (Psychiatrist) explore why antidepressants can fall short and what might actually need to change.

This should never be a cursory discussion, a tick-box exercise, a five-minute script, and a "see you in three months." A proper mental health formulation looks at the whole person, not just the symptom in front of you: your hormones, your history, your circumstances, what's actually driving what you're feeling. That takes looking, investigating, staying curious, not just adjusting a dose and hoping.

You matter, and so does getting this right.

If you've ever wondered, "Is this even doing anything?" this conversation is for you.

This is health partnership at its best: your GP and your psychiatrist working from the same picture, with you as part of that partnership, not a bystander to it. So your care reflects the full story, not one specialty's slice of it.

That's the bridge that's so often missing🤍

Dr Jennifer Lam talks about stress and why we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss it.

Not sleeping properly. Running on empty by 2 pm. Feeling foggy, flat, not quite yourself, and telling yourself maybe it's just stress, or age, or just life..🤷‍♀️ "Maybe" isn't a diagnosis, and you deserve more than a guess.
At Ponti Health, we investigate the foundations first, rather than treating symptoms as separate from what's actually driving them.

If something feels off, it's worth looking into properly. Book an appointment with our GP team via the link below 🤍

Anxiety doesn't always look like what you'd expect.

And that's exactly the problem.

Dr Charlotte Rydstrand, Psychiatrist at Ponti Health, unpacks why so many women with anxiety don't "look" anxious.

We keep functioning. We keep showing up. We hold it together through career pressure, motherhood, perimenopause, through every period of life that demands the most and shows the least. From the outside, it looks like coping. From the inside, it can be a different story entirely.

That gap is exactly why anxiety in women goes missed, dismissed, or quietly pushed through in silence, often for years.

If you've ever wondered whether what you're feeling "counts," it does, this ones for you🤍

Women are used to putting everyone else first and pushing their own needs to the bottom of the list, until there's no more room to push. Waiting for a full collapse before you act isn't a plan.

Burnout isn't just "being tired." It's your body telling you something isn't right. Not something separate from your health, part of it.

At Ponti Health, we don't hand you a wellness checklist and send you on your way. We investigate what's actually going on, so your plan is built for your body, not a generic one.

You can't push through burnout indefinitely, and you shouldn't have to try. There is no shame in asking for help. It's the smartest thing you can do.

Anxious, exhausted, frayed? Just not feeling like yourself? Start here. 🤍

So many women carry this feeling and never name it: running on empty, wired but tired, wondering if it's "just life" or something more. In this conversation from our Your Mind, Your Health series, our Women's Health GP Dr Jennifer Lam sits down with our Chief Psychiatrist Dr Gaurav Tandon to talk about exactly that.

A GP and a psychiatrist, talking it through together. It's rare, and it's exactly why Ponti Health is different.

Our collaboration doesn't stop at the hallway chat. It's built into formal multidisciplinary team reviews, where clinical knowledge gets pooled, not siloed, so your care reflects the full picture, not just one specialty's view of it.

"I'm fine" shouldn't be where the conversation ends.

You don't have to work out where to start on your own.

If this sounds like you, begin with a comprehensive Mental Health appointment with one of our five women's health GPs who specialise in Mental Health 🌟

Your guide to PMDD 🤍

If the week (or two) before your period leaves you feeling like a completely different person — this is for you.

PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) is real, more common than you'd think, and importantly, treatable.

It can look like severe depression or anxiety, out-of-character rage, crying spells, debilitating fatigue and brain fog, disrupted sleep, and physical symptoms like bloating and headaches — feeling completely unlike yourself, until your period arrives and it lifts.

The most important thing to know is that the cyclical pattern is the key indicator. Track your cycle, track your symptoms — that data is powerful.

You are not dramatic. You are not "too emotional." And you are not making it up.

Swipe through, save this for later, and if it feels familiar, our women's health GP's are here to listen and help you find a path forward ✨
