I like this one!
To me it suggests that emotional co-regulation is what we are naturally inclined towards, whilst self-regulation is the product of not being able to down-regulate our nervous system in connection.
It makes sense to me that what makes us social, mammals creatures is our being hard-wired for connection.
It makes sense to me that biologically we have the need of attachment.
It makes sense to me that self-regulation/auto-regulation takes more effort and involves emotional numbing and dismissal.
It makes sense to me that self-regulation ALTHOUGH NORMALISED (especially by society), creates isolation and feeling lost from each other.
It makes sense to me that human touch, emotional interaction is social glue.
It makes sense to me that the body loves touch!
Emotional connection is safe, is natural, is what makes us humans❤️
