Sometimes the hardest part of planning an outing is knowing what is happening!

Each month, BT Support sends our participants a helpful events guide featuring activities happening across Sydney. This includes free community festivals and affordable days out to theatre, exhibitions and special events.

Participants can explore the guide with their support worker, family or friends and choose activities that genuinely interest them!

If someone would like to attend an event, our team can help them look into accessibility, transport, ticket information and whether the activity may fit within their available supports and funding.

It is one of the little extras we provide to help our participants enjoy more choice, connection and new experiences! :)

Choosing a support provider is an important and personal decision. Qualifications and experience matter, but so does how a provider makes you feel.

Before deciding, consider asking:

• Will I have a say in choosing my support workers?
• What happens if a worker is not the right match?
• Will my routines and preferences be respected?
• How will changes or concerns be communicated?
• Can I provide feedback without worrying that it will affect my support?
• Are workers appropriately screened, trained and insured?

You should never feel pressured to stay with a provider who does not listen to you or respect your choices.

Take your time, ask questions and choose a provider that understands you as a person!

At BT Support, we believe genuine support begins with listening.

Choice and control should be more than words.

You deserve to feel heard, respected and involved in every decision about your supports. This includes choosing who supports you, expressing your preferences, setting your own goals and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right.

At BT Support, we take the time to listen and work alongside you. Your life, your choices, your voice.

If you are feeling unheard or would like to explore different support options, contact our friendly team for a confidential conversation.

At BT Support, we believe participants, families, and people living with disability deserve to have their voices heard.

We have taken the opportunity to provide our feedback regarding the proposed changes currently being discussed around NDIS supports because these decisions affect real people, real families, and everyday lives.

No matter what changes happen, our commitment remains the same.

We will continue to advocate, continue to listen, and continue working alongside our participants to ensure they have strong supports and the right people around them.

Uncertainty can feel overwhelming but nobody should feel like they are facing it alone!

Proposed changes to NDIS social & community access funding!

The Federal Government has recently announced proposed NDIS reforms that may reduce funding for some social & community participation supports from late 2026.

These supports help participants:
- stay connected
- build independence
- access the community and,
- reduce social isolation

While many people are concerned about the impact, it’s important to remember these are still proposed changes and have not yet been taken into effect.

At BT Support, we believe community access is more than just “going out”, it’s confidence, inclusion and quality of life for people that need that extra assistance.

We'd love to hear your opinion on the matter! Reach out today!

ADHD looks different for everyone 💛

It’s not always just “being distracted”. It can affect motivation, routines, emotional regulation, organisation, energy levels, and everyday tasks that other people might not think twice about.

Something we think is really important is meeting people where they’re at and understanding that everyone works differently. We strongly believe that with the right support, patience, and environment, big differences can be achieved!

We've also noticed that a lot of the posts about ADHD only speak about the weaknesses those diagnosed with it have... what about the creativity, passion, outside-the-box thinking, and the ability to bring a completely different perspective to the world! We think that's pretty awesome.

At BT Support, we believe support should be built around the person, not the other way around.

Life is best when everyone is celebrated uniquely! :)

To all the incredible mums, carers, grandmothers and mother figures in our community... Happy Mother’s Day for yesterday💐

The love, patience, strength and advocacy you show every single day never goes unnoticed.
From late-night medications, therapy appointments, endless paperwork and emotional support… to the comforting hugs, cheering from the sidelines and celebrating every little win, you do so much more than people see.

Being a mum is already a big job. Being a mum while navigating disability, medical needs, and complex care takes a whole extra level of resilience! ❤️

Yesterday was about celebrating YOU.
Thank you for everything you do, often quietly and without recognition.

We hope you felt appreciated, loved and celebrated this Mother’s Day 🌸
