I bet this was one of your resolutions, right?

A new year often signifies a fresh start for many people. For some, this means setting health goals, such as losing weight, following a healthier diet, and starting an exercise routine.

However, more often than not, the health and wellness resolutions chosen are highly restrictive and unsustainable, leading most people to break their resolutions within a few weeks. This is why many people make the same resolutions year after year.

To break that cycle, it’s important to make resolutions that can not only improve health but also be followed for life.

If you need this REAL CHANGE, let’s have a chat ✌🏻✨

Poor diet, environmental toxins and stress contribute to inflammatory processes. And since we live in a convenience food culture that prioritizes bacon, sugar and chips over blueberries and spinach, it’s no surprise that people are suffering. Our dietary decisions lead to inflammation, weight gain and pain!

When you’ve been diagnosed with a chronic disease, it’s often a signal of dysfunction – your body is overloaded.

So before adding to your body so many medications, try to change your lifestyle!

Beating yourself up about a particularly boozy or calorie-heavy Christmas day could actually set you up for an unhealthy relationship with food.

If you eat a lot during a special occasion, you can come back to an anti-inflammatory diet on the day next, eating your sources of proteins, dairy, fat, fruits and veggies. Don’t feel guilty!

Creating experiences like this can help create better more mindful eating habits every day, whether it be Christmas, a birthday or just a regular work lunch.

Now tell me here… how was your Christmas feast?

🍊🍐🍋 Are you thinking about being more active? Have you been trying to cut back on less healthy foods? Are you starting to eat better and move more but having a hard time sticking with these changes?

👉🏻 Old habits die hard. Changing your habits is a process that involves several stages. Sometimes it takes a while before changes become new habits. And, you may face roadblocks along the way.

Adopting new, healthier habits may protect you from serious health problems like obesity and diabetes. New habits, like healthy eating and regular physical activity, may also help you manage your weight and have more energy. After a while, if you stick with these changes, they may become part of your daily routine.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common gastrointestinal disorder, manifesting with symptoms like abdominal distention, abdominal discomfort, cramping, diarrhea and/or constipation, gas and bloating. There is no surprise that living with IBS can have a significant effect on a person's quality of life.

Diet is one way people manage IBS symptoms. A common treatment approach is to avoid the foods that trigger symptoms, including spices, caffeine, high-ultra processed foods, and foods high in FODMAPs. Along with an appropriate diet, good sleep quality, physical activity, adequate hydration, and good stress management are also crucial to improving IBS symptoms.

From a very young age, food is commonly associated with emotions, even without realizing it! Family gatherings around food, a treat to celebrate an achievement, and occasionally food becomes a reward. As a result, our brains automatically turn on food as an emotional coping mechanism, and stress, feeling upset, irritable, lonely, exhausted, or bored is the trigger for becoming an unhealthy cycle and preventing you from losing weight. Understanding and identifying your feelings is crucial to avoiding emotional eating. To do this, regularly practice mindfulness and meditation techniques, as they are proven to be a powerful tool for interrupting emotional eating. In addition, extremely important tools include avoiding temptation, planning your meals in advance, eating healthy, stress management techniques, and engaging in regular physical activity.
