Nothing says Easter Show quite like fresh watermelon and ice cream! 🍉

Mahasin had a fantastic day at the Sydney Royal Easter Show last month, enjoying the food, exploring the attractions and making the most of a great day out.

Whether it's visiting local events, catching up with friends or trying something new, everyday experiences play an important role in building confidence, connection and enjoyment.

Accessibility opens the door for everyone.

Global Accessibility Awareness is an important reminder that accessibility is about more than design. It shapes how people participate, connect and move through everyday life with confidence.

From physical spaces and communication to digital access, small changes can make a real difference. When accessibility is considered from the start, more people can engage, contribute and feel included.

At United for Care, we believe accessibility is an essential part of building communities where everyone has the opportunity to live well.

Keep accessibility front of mind, every day.

Why registration matters in SIL.

NDIS registration means providers meet national standards for governance, safety and service delivery.

For people receiving SIL supports, this can offer greater reassurance that services are operating within established quality frameworks.

What makes a space feel accessible to you?

Accessibility can look different for everyone. Sometimes it’s the layout of a room, the way information is shared, or simply how easy it is to move through a space and feel comfortable.

The small details often make the biggest difference, and hearing different perspectives helps build more inclusive environments for everyone.

What’s one thing that makes a space feel more accessible to you?

SIL is changing from 1 July

From 1 July 2026, all Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers need to be NDIS registered.

If you’re currently in SIL, it’s a good time to start looking at your setup and understanding your options.

For some people, this might mean checking if your provider will be registered. For others, it could be exploring different options.

The change is all about strengthening quality and safeguards across providers.

If you’re not sure where to start, our team can talk it through with you.
We’re already registered, so we can help you make sense of your options and plan what comes next.

We’ve broken down what this means and what to think about next, read the full update here:

From 1 July, all Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers must be NDIS registered. Learn what’s changing, what it means for your supports, and how to review your options.

"Whether it’s building confidence, learning new skills or reaching personal goals, being part of that journey is incredibly rewarding. Seeing someone realise what they’re capable of and take those steps forward is what makes the work so meaningful.”

Behind every great support service is a team of people who care deeply about the work they do.

Across our organisation, team members from different roles and departments share a common purpose, supporting people to live with independence, dignity and choice. From support workers and coordinators to operations and community teams, everyone plays a part in creating environments where individuals can thrive.

We asked the team to share their own words on why they love working in disability support and what makes this work so meaningful to them.

Remember their service. Honour their legacy.

Today on ANZAC Day, we pause to reflect on the courage, sacrifice and resilience of those who served our nation. Their legacy is one of community, perseverance and looking out for one another.

At United For Care, that same spirit reminds us of the importance of supporting people to live with dignity, independence and choice. By building inclusive communities where everyone is valued and supported, we continue the legacy of care and respect that helps Australia thrive.

Join us in taking a moment to remember and honour the ANZAC spirit.
