Helicobacter pylori. Strep. E.coli. Candida albicans. Staph. Giardia. HIV. To name a few.
Many pathogens rely on iron for survival. While they’re taking it, the body also defends itself against pathogens by depriving them of iron - whether that be through hiding it (iron sequestration), reducing circulating iron levels or blocking iron absorption (by raising hepcidin).
Yet as nature does, these sneaky bugs evolve and develop sophisticated mechanisms to find iron so they can continue to survive.
There are many other reasons why iron can be low too. BUT…it’s not your job to know them all. That’s where I come in.
In my clinic I use functional testing, review & interpret blood pathology, look at nutrition and lifestyle and make a thorough assessment to establish what’s causing your low iron to begin with.
Ferrograd and maltofer aren’t addressing the underlying cause. Let’s dig deeper, together 🤝🏼
