Welcome back to Trial Talk Tuesday!

In this two-part series, we are breaking down what the next steps look like for both participants and the drug.

First up: the patient journey.

Immediately after participant visits end, researchers enter a critical data analysis period to assemble and interpret the study results.

Every participant receives an exit overview to discuss their experience, ask questions, and learn about potential next steps, including when study results will be shared.

For some patients, this means transitioning back to standard care under their primary physician. For others, particularly if the treatment proved successful, they may continue receiving it through an open-label extension study or an expanded access program while waiting for formal approval.

Once all participant data has been analysed, final trial results are shared back with participants and published for the medical community.

Today is and today we are talking about three simple, daily actions that you can take to keep your heart health on track:

1. Move
According to the University of Sydney, new research has found that people who walk at least 10 to 15 minutes in a single stretch reduce their risk of developing cardiovascular disease by two-thirds. [1]

2. Fuel
Prioritise a heart-healthy diet rich in plenty of vegetables, fresh fruit and whole grains to support lower blood pressure and optimal cholesterol levels.

3. Rest
Sticking to a regular sleep and wake-up time can have significant effects, as researchers have found that irregular sleep patterns increase the risk of stroke, heart attack and heart failure by 26%. [2]

We’ve been shortlisted in the AI Innovator - Healthcare category, alongside some of the most interesting AI companies in the country.

We built Clinrol to leverage AI and address a common cause for why clinical trials stall: finding enough eligible patients. First, researchers are using broader protocol criteria to remove unnecessary inclusion and exclusion barriers.

They are also establishing accessible site locations directly within diverse and underserved communities.

Partnering with local community leaders and advocacy groups helps build lasting trust across different demographics.

Additionally, offering decentralised options like remote visits and travel support makes participation much easier for regional patients.

Finally, teams are delivering culturally relevant, translated educational materials that accommodate all literacy levels.

For real representation to happen, it has to be prioritised and built into the clinical trial.
