This National Child Protection Week, remember: protecting children is about more than physical safety.
It’s about making sure they feel loved, heard and supported.

Fathers, build that connection with your children.
Talk to them. Listen to them. Ask how they’re feeling.
Let them know they can come to you without fear of judgement.

Sometimes, the greatest gift you can give your child is simply your time, your attention and your ears.
When children feel safe speaking to their parents, they’re more likely to speak up when something is wrong.

Every child deserves to feel safe.
Every child deserves to be heard.
And every family has a role to play.

This is my 29th Fathers Day without my father.

Losing him felt like losing the strong wall I had always leaned on. One day it was there beneath my hands holding me steady. Then suddenly it was gone.

Since then I have never found anything that gives me the same sense of support, safety and balance. No money, success or achievement could ever replace him.

If you are blessed to still have your father, love him, appreciate him and look after him. Never take his presence for granted.

My father is pictured here wearing traditional Afghan attire while serving as a surgeon with the Red Crescent treating victims of war in Afghanistan .

🌍 ALL IN! IN HONOUR OF INTERNATIONAL CHARITY DAY ❤️
This International Charity Day, I’m choosing to go ALL IN for humanitarian causes and support people and communities facing devastating crises.

If you’re able to donate, even a small amount can make a difference. Here are three reputable organisations supporting people in need:

🇳🇵 NEPAL — Australian Red Cross
Support emergency relief for communities affected by the Nepal floods:
https://www.redcross.org.au/global-emergency/

🇵🇸 PALESTINE / GAZA — Australian Red Cross
Support humanitarian assistance, healthcare, water, shelter and protection:

🇸🇩 SUDAN — Australia for UNHCR
Support refugees and people affected by the devastating humanitarian crisis in Sudan:

❤️ No amount is too small. If you can’t donate, sharing these links can still help.

ALL IN. FOR HUMANITY. 🌍

The heartbreaking discovery of a newborn baby boy in Auburn has deeply affected our community.

Police are urgently trying to locate his mother, with serious concerns for her health and wellbeing.

If you are pregnant, have recently given birth or you’re struggling and feel like you cannot cope please reach out. Help is available and you do not have to face it alone.

I hope the mother is found safe and receives the medical care, compassion and support she needs. 🤍
