The Most Powerful Nervous System Reset Isnât Always What You Think
Today I spent a short while walking through the beauty of the Blue Mountains after working online all day.
No emails.
No social media.
No rushing.
No pressure to achieve anything.
Just fresh air, towering trees, birdsong, flowing water and breathtaking views.
As I walked, I was reminded of something I often share with my clients:
Your nervous system was never designed to be switched on all day, every day.
Many of us spend so much time in âdoing modeâ that we forget what it feels like to simply be.
When the nervous system becomes overloaded, it can show up as:
⨠Anxiety and overthinking
⨠Poor sleep
⨠Brain fog
⨠Irritability
⨠Feeling emotionally overwhelmed
⨠Constant busyness without feeling fulfilled
Nature has a remarkable way of bringing us back to ourselves.
Research shows that spending time in natural environments can help lower stress hormones, calm the nervous system, improve mood and restore mental clarity.
Today wasnât just a walk.
It was a reset.
A reminder that sometimes the most productive thing we can do is slow down long enough for our mind and body to catch up.
If life has felt overwhelming lately, perhaps your nervous system is asking for less stimulation and more restoration.
Take a walk.
Listen to the birds.
Watch a sunset.
Sit by the water.
Your nervous system will thank you for it. đ
