What have you done in the last year that have gotten you out of your comfort zone?

These are my top 4

1. Started my own businesses - one being 😍

2. Starting working out of Snap Fitness Toowoomba as a personal trainer 💪

3. After 8 years quit my full time vet nurse GP job to work part time at an emergency vet client 🐱🐶💉

4. Booked an overseas holiday by myself (is now postponed due to Covid but that’s ok) ✈️

Real change is difficult at the beginning, but gorgeous at the end. Change begins the moment you get the courage and step outside your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Roy T. Bennett

In order to grow as human beings we need to constantly evolve. Evolving means doing things that make us uncomfortable sometimes. Speaking from experience the other side of our comfort zone is beautiful and well worth it in the end.

You’ve got this. Bring on 2021❤️

🎄Does the thought of eating on Christmas Day make you feel anxious rather than joyed? 🎅

Trust me I have been there. It can feel so overwhelming! 🍽

1. Save the majority of your calories towards the end of the day. If you wake up not feeling hungry, you don’t have to eat.

2. If you know you’re going to have a big lunch/dinner then you can have a lighter breakfast option like a protein shake, egg white omelette etc.

3. If you know you won’t be having a lot of throughout the day try and have a bowl full of veggies - this will also help you feel fuller for longer as well.

4. Fill your plate up with lots of protein 🍗 What a lot of people don’t know is that protein is the most satiating macronutrient- meaning it makes you feel fuller for longer. This will help prevent you filling your plate up with foods that are more calorie dense and don’t keep you full.

5. Stay hydrated 💧

6. Move your body - even if it’s just a quick walk, running around with the kids in the back yard or a game of cricket you will feel so much better for it.

7. ENJOY the day and move on. This is the most important tip. Just remember it is one day out of the rest of the year. You don’t want to look back and have any regrets. Memories are there to be made. Just get back into what you would normally do the next day.

🚫DO NOT try to burn off the cals you consumed. Food is there to be enjoyed NOT a punishment.

8. If you want to stay on track with your food and training that is also ok. Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty for not eating the Christmas pudding. You do you.

Have a very Merry Christmas and stay safe 🥂

We are moving into the silly season where naturally we are going to be more social, which means more food and alcohol.

DO NOT THROW IT ALL AWAY! Your health and fitness is still extremely important and this Christmas period isn't an excuse to think 'f*** it... I'll start next year'. That mentality only sets you back further than where you started.

Life is about balance. Eat those Christmas treats and enjoy those drinks with friends and family BUT also nourish your body with essential nutrient rich foods and drink lots of water.

A great way to stay on track is to just be conscious of what you are putting in your body and then keeping up your normal training routine. Believe me, you will thank yourself come 2021!

Eating out should never be a stressful thing but rather something you enjoy!

You should never feel like you’re going to fall off track if you eat out either. These are my top tips that I do when I’m eating out:

1️⃣Choose a meal on the menu that can be easily logged in your tracker. For example this meal. I tracked each food separate and guesstimated the weight of each. I also accounted for extra butters and oils that often get used in restaurants.

2️⃣Take a photo of your meal. There is nothing worse than sitting on your phone while you’re trying to enjoy yourself. I will take a photo of my food and log it in my app later on.

3️⃣Plan ahead. If you know you’re going to be eating out save some calories. If its going to be the end of the day then fill yourself up with protein and fibre.

4️⃣Add extra protein to your meals. This meal came with ham but I also added bacon. Who doesn’t love bacon 😛

5️⃣Pick places that list their macros. Places like GYG, Grilld, Nando’s all have their macros/calories online. They obviously aren’t 100% accurate but at least it gives you an idea.

6️⃣The last and most important tip is to ENJOY yourself. If you don’t eat out a lot then one meal that’s not 100% accurate is ok. You won’t blow out. Just be consistent the next day. Life is too short to stress about the small things. Food is there to be enjoyed and not to stress about.

Hope those tips helped. Feel free to drop some of your tips below. I always love learning as well ❤️........

This is me being very raw and real ❤️
I have been on my health and fitness journey since 2012. The photos you see here are from 2016 onwards. I wish I had more photos of when I first started but too be honest I wasn’t happy with how I looked. I was never overweight but I still struggled with my insecurities. No matter what size you are we all have our struggles.
As you flick through the first few photos you will see I lost weight by doing bootcamps in the park which was great. That’s what really motivated me to keep going. Unfortunately I was given no education on how to maintain that weight loss and I rebound and put the weight back on plus more (third photo). I also had PTs and did F45 but still I wasn’t given the correct education around nutrition and had no idea how to train weights or the importance of it.
As my fitness journey progressed I fell in love with the idea of body building. Thankfully I found an amazing coach who taught me the importance of fuelling my body correctly and in a way I could maintain. My coach also educated me on how important resistance training is when wanting to build a good solid foundation for myself. Shock horror - I actually lost more weight by fixing up my diet, resistance training and cutting out cardio while I started to build my body.
My main point is your body will change over the years throughout your journey. You just have to find a body that is maintainable to your life style.
I for one love my body in all of my photos. It’s strong, healthy and has never let me down. However, the first and last photos is the body that I can maintain while still enjoying life, food, socialising and feeling strong in the gym. Just remember we only get one body. Love it hard ❤️
