And honestly? I get it.

Feeling constantly exhausted, flat, run down or struggling to get through the day? It might not just be “winter fatigue.”
During the colder months, I commonly see low or suboptimal levels of nutrients such as:

One of the biggest things I hear this time of year is:
“I feel like I’m doing everything right, but nothing is changing.”

And honestly, winter can feel incredibly frustrating when it comes to weight, energy and motivation. Your body naturally shifts during colder months, metabolism can slow slightly, stress hormones become more dysregulated, movement often decreases and cravings for quick energy foods become stronger.

What many women do next is start eating less, skipping meals or pushing themselves harder, which often creates even more stress on the body and makes progress feel impossible. Instead of fighting your body this winter, focus on supporting it.

I genuinely thought skipping breakfast was discipline.

I thought hunger meant it was working.

I was eating 900 calories a day, exhausted by 3pm, bingeing at night, and waking up feeling like I’d failed myself every single day.

Here’s what was actually happening 👇

What I did → I skipped meals, pushed through hunger, and called it control.

What happened → My metabolism slowed to protect me. Cravings became unmanageable.

The scale barely moved and when it did, I was losing muscle, not fat. My energy crashed. My mood followed.

Sometimes it’s not one major thing impacting your metabolism, hormones or energy levels, it’s the small daily habits that slowly add up over time. Skipping meals, relying on caffeine to push through exhaustion, eating too little protein, poor sleep, increased stress and constantly running on empty can all place extra pressure on the body during winter.
