Our Playgroups are back in full swing this week, they are free and run in the Ballina and Tweed Shires.

Calling All Food Vendors!

Expressions of Interest are now open for food stalls at Carols in the Park Murwillumbah 2026!

We’re looking for food trucks, market stalls, local businesses and community groups to help us serve up a delicious range of food and drinks at this much-loved family event.

Carols in the Park brings the Murwillumbah community together for an evening of live entertainment, Christmas celebrations and family fun. It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase your food to a large local crowd while being part of a special community event.

We are so excited for Teddy Bears Picnic next week Wednesday 9th September. We have 20 local service providers providing activities plus the Rural Fire Service and SES where you and your teddy can play at being a local hero for the day.

Working 9 to 5… what a way to spend a playgroup!

Our Murwillumbah Playgroup paid tribute to the fabulous Dolly Parton, with the children dancing along to 9 to 5 and Jolene. They had the best time singing, moving and celebrating together!

Our playgroups promote early literacy through stories, songs, play and creativity. Each year, thanks to the generous support of Twin Towns Services Club, every child who attends one of The Family Centre’s playgroups is gifted a book of their own.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library was the inspiration behind our book-gifting program and its belief in helping children develop a love of reading from an early age.

As Dolly says: “You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children.” 📚💛

We’re thrilled to annouce The Family Centre has been selected as one of the charity beneficiaries of this year’s Stone & Wood Community Open Day!

This family-friendly event will bring the community together for a great day out, with proceeds shared between The Family Centre and two other local charities.

We’ve also invited the Murwillumbah Red Cross to join us with a delicious cake stall, with all proceeds from the stall going directly to The Family Centre.
