Important update for older Australians and families! The government has announced today an indefinite deferral of the Support at Home price caps, which were due to start on 1 July 2026. For participants and families, there is no impact on the support services delivered.

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is getting new powers to crack down on providers who overcharge, including the power to order refunds. Strong protections remain in place.

This week is National Palliative Care Week, a time to open conversations about end-of-life care that many families find difficult to start.
