Healthy Habits Fitness and Nutrition Having been there myself i know the struggles of being overweight, lack of motivation and being over 2018 was not the best year for me personally.

Dealing with an incident that lead to mental health issues and being diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. In September i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and this literally was the tip of the iceberg for me. I was 140kg, my blood pressure was through the roof, my cholesterol levels were huge, I was unmotivated and let's face it LAZY. I woke up one morning and said " Time to get my life back" i was si

ck of being lazy, fat, having no energy and a pretty much non existent mindset. Through a few small changes, mainly diet ( just eating properly), getting off my ass and exercising in 3 months i started to see big changes and felt the best i have in years. By 6 months my health levels were back to normal and by 12 months i was officially taken off my diabetes medication. I had more energy and my mindset was one of " nothing is getting in my way"

My goals for 2019 were simple.
1. Complete my PT training. ✅
2. Continue my Education ✅
3. To help others achieve their own fitness goals.✅
4. Be the best ME i can be.✅

Want to get a workout in but your short on time?

Workouts don't need to go for hours to be effective.

If you only got 20 mins that's fine get stuck in for a short intense workout.

Here is a quick 20 min cardio/HIIT I just done at the gym.

Give it a try and let me know how it went.

Warm up

5 exercises
Ski-erg
Slam ball
KB Swings
Russian Twists
Step ups

30 secs each
10 secs between exercises
60-90 between sets
5 sets

Cool down.

Hi everyone as you may have noticed i have gone through a rebranding and now going by Healthy Habits Fitness and Nutrition.

As the new name says i'm focusing on fitness and nutrition and helping people getting started and continuing on their healthy living journey, whether it be starting from scratch or just looking for some fine tuning or even accountability I'm here to help.

If i can be of help please reach out as i now have spots for training and nutrition. I have also aligned with other health professionals to provide a referral network if required. These consist of Dietitians, Sports dietitans, S&C Coaches, Sports Psychologists and more.

For those that don't know a few years ago i was overweight (140+kgs) and super unhealthy( high everything, diabetes). Coupled with a traumatic personal incident i was not in a good way at all with being unhealthy and being in a really bad headspace.

Woke up one morning and had that " I need to change" moment and haven't looked back.

Through the help of great friends I managed to turn my life around and become the person I am today.

From all these not so good experiences i have gained a wealth of knowledge that no books or courses will give anyone. I want to help others to start their own journey to regain control of their health and fitness both physically and mentally.

Having been through all this i know what my clients will go through and can offer support and a safe/non judgemental environment that only someone who has experienced this can give and understand.

Regardless of your situation I am happy and ready to help and guide you to regain control of yourself once again.

SARCOPENIA!!

Sounds scary?

Na not really it is just the good old aging process.

It is something we will all deal with at some time in our lives. Usually this starts in our 30s or 40s, but doesn't really gain traction until around 65-80 years of age.
Studies have shown you can lose up to 8% of your muscle mass each decade.

But DO NOT fear it is 100% manageable and preventable with some resistance training, protein supplementation ( especially in older adults) and vitamin D.

This is just one of the main reasons experts say that lifting weights is great for your health regardless of age.

Maintaining our muscle mass and strength is SO important as we get older to help us navigate the latter stages of life and to live as healthy life as possible.

We need our muscles not only to move but to support and protect our bodies, to do the things we enjoy and to be the best US we can be.

Now you don't need to lifting super heavy weights to rival ARNIE or SLY, you don't need to spend hours in the gym you just need to give those muscles the work that they crave.

The best thing is it can and needs to be done by everyone regardless of age.

So start lifting today to help you for tomorrow.
