There are now two ways to protect babies against severe ( ) in Australia: vaccination during pregnancy and infant immunisation.

The pathway to protection may look a little different depending on where you live.
That’s because maternal vaccination is available for expectant mums through the National Immunisation Program (NIP), while infant immunisation is delivered through state and territory programs.

Our updated infant immunisation guide has been developed to help make this easier to understand, so families can feel more confident navigating infant RSV protection.

Before you write your back-to-school shopping list, swipe to see ways you can add more cereals and wholegrains to your child’s lunchbox next term.

A balanced diet across the five food groups is vital for healthy growth and development, with kids and teens, depending on their age, needing at least:

🍞5 – 7 serves of cereals and grain (mostly wholegrains) daily
🥦 5 serves of veggies daily
🍓 2 serves of fruit daily
🧀 3.5 serves of dairy or alternatives daily
🍗 2.5 serves of meat or alternatives daily

Eating enough of the five food groups each day can set up your child for healthy eating habits and decrease the risk of chronic health issues such as diabetes, heart disease and obesity.

If your child has been diagnosed with allergies or medical conditions that impact what they can eat, discuss any concerns with your doctor or healthcare provider.
