This Pride Month, we’re sharing a resource created for and by LGBTQ+ communities impacted by cancer 🏳️‍🌈

Navigating a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, and everyone’s experience is different. That’s why the CAN WE Cancer Resource Hub was developed as a practical, community-driven guide to support LGBTQ+ people through every stage, from diagnosis, to treatment, and life beyond.

You’ll find inclusive information on medical care, emotional wellbeing, and understanding your rights, along with lived-experience insights and community knowledge to help guide decision-making and care pathways.

The resource also recognises carers, friends, and supporters. Navigating cancer is something no one should have to do alone 💜

As Refugee Week comes to a close for 2026, MPHN is proud to launch the Murrumbidgee Multicultural Health Needs Assessment + Summary.

This year’s Refugee Week theme reminds us: each story is unique. Each one is powerful. And together, they shape the Australia we all call home today. That message is especially meaningful here in the Murrumbidgee, where our growing multicultural communities are an important part of the region we are all so passionate about.

👏 Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important work, including multicultural community members who shared their experiences through focus groups, workshops, the community survey and in-service polls, as well as the health and social service providers who contributed through interviews and surveys. Your insights, stories and practical suggestions have helped build a stronger understanding of local needs and will guide MPHN’s next steps in commissioning, partnerships and system improvement.
