Why I LOVE my “bring my pet to work” days🫶🐶

ANIMAL THERAPY (especially involving dogs) is widely used to support emotional wellbeing and regulation. Dogs have a natural ability to sense human emotions and often respond with calm, non-judgmental companionship. This can be particularly helpful for people who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally dysregulated.

Interacting with dogs has been shown to lower stress hormones like cortisol while increasing oxytocin, the hormone linked to bonding and feelings of safety. Their steady presence, gentle physical contact, and predictable behaviour can help ground someone in the moment, making it easier to regulate intense emotions.

Dogs also encourage routine, movement, and connection, which are important for mental health. For individuals who struggle with trust or communication, dogs can provide a sense of comfort and emotional security without pressure. Overall, therapy dogs create a calming environment that supports emotional balance, reduces distress, and promotes a sense of connection and wellbeing 😊🫶🐶
