Maybe it would be easier to tell you what I don’t do 🤷‍♀️

Ps. These aren’t real photos of my work. Because I will never take photos of my clients, or their homes ✌️

I couldn’t hope for anything more than this.

To provide a service where other humans can be vulnerable, to have them put their trust in me and feel safe is everything I strive for.

I’m still feeling warm and fuzzy from receiving these words today.

Question: Do you know anyone who has had their plan reviewed lately and has been happy…. Or even just satisfied with their new NDIS plan?

Participants go through the confidence destroying process of capacity assessments where they spend a couple of hours focussing on what they can’t do. The OT leaves and the participant spends the continuing hours, days or weeks re thinking the things they can’t do. They battle through, we work together to rebuild confidence and self worth, to put those feelings away.
They get anxious about the impending appointments and the call from ‘the delegate’
Will it happen this week, or next month. No one knows.
The call finally comes, and ‘the delegate’ who seems as though they haven’t even read the reports that the participant spent so much emotional equity to provide, tells them what they’re worth. And it’s less than we talked about. It’s a bare minimum for survival, with no allowance for quality of life, community involvement or self expression. It’s soul destroying.

I’ve got one participant saying they won’t go through this again. The next time their plan is up for review and they have to start this process, they are done. It’s heart breaking.

Understandably, cuts are needed, but I’m seeing a lot of those cuts landing in the wrong places and it’s starting to get a bit disheartening. Please, someone tell me a good news story!

Another jam packed three days of learning with Tensegrity Training
My brain is bursting with all this new understanding of the movement of Pilates.
I’ll be doing some supervised teaching practice sessions of mat Pilates on Friday afternoon. Let me know if you’re keen to be involved!

Are you wanting to do Pilates but not sure where to start? Here’s my run down of your options in Warragul.

Flex and Stretch - Life Pilates - Mint - Pilates Pureform- Renaissance Reformer - The Warragul Wellness Centre

What’s the best studio? The one where you feel comfortable, and actually want to turn up and move your body. And that answer will be different from one person to the next.
I recommend you try them all!

*I usually try to make my posts accessible for those with no or low vision. This one contains way too much content in the images. If this affects you, please DM me. I will happily chat directly to help you find the best fit!

Thanks for coming to my toilet paper TED talk 😂

Geez I harped on about ‘in someone else’s home’ but let’s apply this to any time we are supporting someone, in their home or any where else. Their values are their values. From toilet paper to cultural beliefs, or the clothes they choose to wear. Our role is not to share an alternative opinion or sway their belief system.

The smile of a girl who just got home from her first 3 day intensive training weekend. I’m completing a Certificate IV in Pilates instructor training through

My brain is bursting with new information after three days spent learning from Miriam and I am blown away by her wealth of knowledge and so happy that I chose this pathway to take my Pilates journey.

Later in the year when I’m fully trained I’ll be delivering Pilates sessions tailored to individual needs, making movement more accessible in West Gippsland.

In the mean time I’ve got loads of homework to do, and that includes 70 hours of teaching practice! Would you like to be a body for me to practice on?

Yay for accessible packaging!
Not everyone’s shopping experience is the same, so we were pretty stoked to find this at in Warragul last week. really nailed the accessibility on this one!

And here comes the pivot….

In January 2024, I started Pilates while dealing with a back injury that prevented me from doing most things and had me considering daily pain medication or injections in my spine. I ended up with neither, but I did acquire a new LOVE!

After completing more than 300 Pilates classes, I’ve taken the plunge and I’ve started training to become an instructor.

I’ve had the pleasure of supporting one of my clients to experience Pilates and I’m dreaming of delivering accessible one on one classes to people with disabilities, as well as instructing the Classic, Strength and Cardio classes that I just can’t get enough of!

Of course I’ll still be available for social support services too.

Please enjoy this AI generated photo of me instructing a class. We know it’s fake because I’m wearing all black and that almost never happens!
