🌿 WHAT IF BUSINESS DIDN’T HAVE TO BE A LADDER?
I started my first little business at 12 years old, an aftercare and babysitting service.
Thirty-seven years later, I’ve worked, built things, started again, learned new skills, worn every hat imaginable and spent thousands trying to figure out things someone else already knew.
I’ve done business the lonely way.
I don’t want to build Bexia Grove that way.
I don’t believe sovereignty means doing everything yourself.
The old ways understood exchange. People traded time, knowledge, skills, labour, produce and craft because communities worked better when everyone brought something to the table.
So alongside my $35 an hour business support, I’m opening space for energy exchange.
Not because either person's work is worth less.
Because value is bigger than money.
If your skills meet a need of mine and mine meet a need of yours, perhaps we can exchange them.
I want business to feel more attainable for the soul traders, creatives and little businesses growing something meaningful without enormous budgets behind them.
No $10,000 promise to unlock the secret to success.
No corporate ladder.
No cutting down the tall poppy who dares to grow.
Just clear boundaries, fair exchange and people helping people build.
Collaboration without dependency.
Support without surrendering sovereignty.
Maybe we don't need a taller ladder.
Maybe we need a longer table. 🌿
