NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association The NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association is the registered union for all nurses, midwives and care workers in NSW

The NSWNMA is an association of over 80,000 members and is a branch of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF), as well as being an affiliate of Unions NSW and the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU). Members of the NSWNMA are deemed to be members of the NSW Branch of the ANMF. NSWNMA is a union that provides quality representation to a growing number of active members who see the Association as the vehicle for their own empowerment. We work to be recognised by nurses, midwives and all others as a positive contributor to a fairer society. Read about the benefits of membership: http://www.nswnma.asn.au/members/benefits/

Nurses and midwives deserve access to affordable housing. There is ample space on the old Forest High site - the NSW government must get on with the job of delivering affordable housing for essential workers!

The evidence suggests exercise before surgery is worth taking seriously. Patients may improve fitness with either supervised or home-based programs.

Globally, about two in three people will need major surgery at some point in their lives. While preparing for a major operation, patients usually focus on the surgery itself. Nurses and midwives are incredibly skilled at caring for others. But many of us find it hard to ask for help ourselves. The demands of the job - emotionally, physically, ethically - can quietly accumulate over time.

We believe that seeking support is a strength - not a weakness.

Nurse Midwife Health Program Australia is a free and confidential service for nurses and midwives by nurses and midwives.

No referral needed. No judgment. No cost – funded by the Commonwealth Government.
