Home Away from Home is celebrating its second birthday, and we are marking the occasion by hosting a Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser to benefit the Cancer Council.

Participants will be baking, decorating the house for the celebration, and raising funds to fight cancer.

This event provides a wonderful opportunity for our families to connect and celebrate the strong community we have built.

We offer Short Term Respite (STR) in a warm, inclusive, and accessible home — perfect for individuals with disabilities who want a change of scenery, some fun and connection, and a supportive place to recharge. It’s also a well-earned break for carers.

A couple of our crew are serious market lovers, so a trip to The Mill Market and the Daylesford Market was right up their alley.

From vintage treasures to quirky finds, there was plenty to explore and plenty of excitement in the hunt for something unique. For those who love a good market, it’s all about the thrill of discovering something a little different.

Safe to say our market explorers had a great day out!

Wednesday is Travel Quest day — and it’s all about building confidence through travel!

From tapping on with a Myki, to finding the right platform or catching the correct bus, every small step helps build real-life independence. 👏

Of course, travel doesn’t always go to plan. Delays happen, platforms change, and sometimes we need to problem-solve on the go. With the support of our team, participants learn how to navigate these moments with confidence — turning challenges into valuable life skills.

We’re so proud to see our group growing in confidence as they develop the skills to travel around Melbourne.
