It took me years to learn this one.
And honestly? I’m still learning it.
I’m Mel, a sound therapist and the founder of SALA Sound Lounge. For 13 years I’ve helped people slow down, soften and come back to themselves.
But for a long time, I didn’t give myself the same permission.
I thought changing my mind meant I’d failed.
That doing things differently meant I’d let people down.
That once I’d said “this is the plan,” I had to stick to it, no matter what it cost me.
Being a Sound therapist, the practice has taught me otherwise.
It’s okay to change your mind.
It’s okay to choose what works for your family, even if it looks different to everyone else.
It’s okay to show up for your friends in a new way.
It’s okay to outgrow the version of you that made the old plan.
Changing direction isn’t quitting. It’s listening.
And the more I’ve listened to my own nervous system, the clearer it’s become: the softest choice is often the bravest one.
If you’re holding on to a plan that no longer fits, this is your sign to loosen your grip.
Follow along. I’ll be sharing more of the real, unfiltered journey of building SALA, and what I’m learning about myself along the way 🤍
