When infection control is missed, the impact can be serious.

In 2019, I cared for a client with a tracheostomy who depended on others for daily care.

Some infection control steps were not followed properly.

At first, it seemed small — redness, more secretions.

But within days, he developed a serious infection and was admitted to the hospital.

💔 It caused distress for him
💔 Fear and anxiety for his family
💔 And it could have been prevented

Infection control is not optional. It protects lives.

Simple steps matter:
✔️ Clean hands
✔️ Proper equipment
✔️ Correct procedures

If your loved one has a tracheostomy, you have the right to:
✔️ Safe care
✔️ Trained staff
✔️ Dignity and respect

Let’s keep our community safe 💙
