#অস্টিওআর্থ্রাইটিস (Osteoarthritis) হলো হাড়ের জয়েন্ট বা সন্ধির একটি ডিজেনারেটিভ রোগ, যেখানে কার্টিলেজ (cartilage) বা হাড়ের গায়ে থাকা মসৃণ আবরণ ধীরে ধীরে ক্ষয় হতে থাকে। ফলে হাড়গুলো সরাসরি একে অপরের সাথে ঘষা খেতে শুরু করে এবং ব্যথা, ফোলা, শক্ত হয়ে যাওয়া (stiffness) ইত্যাদি উপসর্গ দেখা দেয়।

কারণ
১।বয়স বৃদ্ধি (সাধারণত ৪০ বছরের পর থেকে ঝুঁকি বাড়ে)

২।অতিরিক্ত ওজন

৩।পূর্বের জয়েন্ট ইনজুরি বা সার্জারি

৪।বংশগত কারণ

৫।জয়েন্ট অতিরিক্ত ব্যবহার (heavy physical work, repetitive movement )
