Dear Researchers and Authors,
It is our great pleasure to inform you that the July issue of the East West Medical College Journal (EWMCJ) is currently in press and, Insha’Allah, will be published on schedule. This issue comprises 25 manuscripts, including a timely editorial, 22 original research articles, and 2 case reports.
We are also delighted to announce that the January 2027 issue has already reached full capacity, and manuscript processing is now underway for the July 2027 issue. Notably, two manuscripts have already been scheduled for publication in that issue.

At a time when many medical college journals face challenges in maintaining regular publication schedules due to a shortage of quality submissions, EWMCJ has successfully progressed to schcom
ling publications one year in advance. This achievement reflects the trust and confidence of our authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and readers, and is a matter of great pride for our journal community.

We warmly invite researchers and clinicians to submit their original articles, case reports, and review articles for consideration in the July 2027 issue. Interested authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts at the earliest opportunity before the issue reaches full capacity.

ডা: মিশুক ভট্টাচার্য, ব্যাচ: EW-04, শিক্ষাবর্ষ: ২০০৬–২০০৭
অত্যন্ত দুঃখের সঙ্গে জানানো যাচ্ছে যে, গত ১৯ শে জানুয়ারি ২০২৬ ইং, রোজ সোমবার গাজীপুরে এক মর্মান্তিক সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় তিনি পরলোকগমন করেছেন।

একজন মেধাবী, মানবিক ও দায়িত্বশীল চিকিৎসক হিসেবে ডা: মিশুক ভট্টাচার্য তাঁর সহপাঠী, শিক্ষক ও সহকর্মীদের কাছে ছিলেন অত্যন্ত প্রিয় ও সম্মানিত। তাঁর অকাল প্রয়াণে ইস্ট ওয়েস্ট মেডিকেল কলেজ পরিবার এক অপূরণীয় ক্ষতির সম্মুখীন হয়েছে।
এই শোকাবহ মুহূর্তে আমরা তাঁর বিদেহী আত্মার চিরশান্তি কামনা করছি এবং শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবার-পরিজন, স্বজন ও সহপাঠীদের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জানাচ্ছি।

🕊️ In Loving Memory of Begum Khaleda Zia 🇧🇩

It is with deep sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh and a significant figure in the nation’s political history. She passed away on 30 December 2025 at the age of 80 after a prolonged illness, leaving behind a long legacy of public service and leadership.

Begum Khaleda Zia’s role in shaping Bangladesh’s democratic journey and her emergence as a prominent female leader has been recognized both nationally and internationally. Her remarkable political career has inspired many, and her absence will be deeply felt across the country and beyond.

In honor of her contributions: 🕯️ The nation of Bangladesh has entered a period of mourning, with flags lowered to half-mast.
🌍 Tributes and condolences have poured in from leaders and citizens around the world.

On behalf of East West Medical College Journal, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, supporters, and to all those mourning in Bangladesh and around the globe. May her soul rest in peace.
