আমাদের গ্রামের বাজারের ওষুধের দোকানগুলো খেয়াল করেছেন? প্রায় সব দোকানেই পুরুষদের ভিড়, বিক্রেতাও সাধারণত পুরুষ।

এই ভিড় ঠেলে পিরিয়ডের সময় স্যানিটারি সামগ্রী কিনতে যাওয়াটা গ্রামীণ অঞ্চলের একটা সাধারণ মেয়ের জন্য কতটা সংকোচ আর ভয়ের, তা আমরা অনেকেই কল্পনাও করতে পারি না। লোকলজ্জা আর অস্বস্তির ভয়ে অনেকেই তাই মুখ বুজে পুরোনো অস্বাস্থ্যকর কাপড় ব্যবহার করে অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়ে।

কিন্তু কিছু বাবা এই নীরবতার দেয়াল ভেঙেছেন। মেয়ের পিরিয়ডকালীন সুরক্ষায় যাঁরা সমাজের চোখরাঙানি আর আড়চোখে তাকানোকে উপেক্ষা করে নিজে গিয়ে দোকান থেকে প্যাড কিনে নিয়ে আসেন। তাঁরা শুধু স্যানিটারি সামগ্রী আনেন না, তাঁরা মেয়েকে উপহার দেন নির্ভয়ে বেঁচে থাকার সাহস আর সুস্থতার নিশ্চয়তা।

এই বাবাদের প্রতি আমাদের বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা। আপনারা কেবল মেয়দের রক্ষা করছেন না, একটি সুস্থ ও সচেতন সমাজ গড়ে তোলার প্রথম লড়াইটা আপনারা লড়ছেন।

সব বাবাদের জানাই শুভ বাবা দিবস। পিরিয়ড কোনো লজ্জার বিষয় নয়, এটি সুরক্ষার অধিকার। 💙

মা আমাদের জীবনের প্রথম শিক্ষক। প্রথম হাঁটা, প্রথম কথা বলা, সবই তাঁর হাত ধরে। কিন্তু পিরিয়ড বা পিরিয়ডকালীন স্বাস্থ্য নিয়ে মায়েরা যখন আমাদের সাথে কথা বলেন, তখন সেখানে কি ভয় থাকে নাকি আত্মবিশ্বাস?

আমাদের দেশে অধিকাংশ মা পিরিয়ডের স্বাস্থ্যবিধি নিয়ে নিজেরাও কিছুটা অন্ধকারে থাকেন। পুরোনো ভেজা কাপড়ের ঝুঁকি কিংবা সংক্রমণের ভয় নিয়ে কথা বলাটা এখনো আমাদের সমাজে এক ধরণের 'ট্যাবু'। কিন্তু পিরিয়ড মানে তো কেবল রক্তপাত নয়, পিরিয়ড মানে একটি শরীরের সুস্থতা এবং আগামীর সম্ভাবনা।

এই মা দিবসে চলুন আমরা মায়েদের সাথে কথা বলি। তাঁদের জানাই যে পিরিয়ডকালীন পরিচ্ছন্নতা কেবল প্রয়োজন নয়, এটি তাঁদের অধিকার। মায়ের সুস্বাস্থ্যই পারে একটি মেয়ের জন্য সুস্থ আগামী নিশ্চিত করতে। সুস্থ মা, আত্মবিশ্বাসী মেয়ে।
