🌿 GUPUS Welcomes the Newly Appointed Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Goalanda 🌿

Goalanda Upazila Protibondhi Unnayan Sangastha (GUPUS) extended a warm floral welcome and congratulations to the newly appointed Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Goalanda, Mr. Saiful Huda.

During the courtesy meeting, representatives of GUPUS shared the organization’s ongoing initiatives and discussed key issues concerning disability rights, social inclusion, economic empowerment, self-reliance, accessibility, and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in development activities.

As a Disabled People’s Organization (DPO) led and governed by persons with disabilities, GUPUS firmly believes that disability inclusion is not merely about providing assistance—it is about ensuring equal rights, dignity, participation, leadership, and opportunities.

We look forward to strengthening collaboration and partnership with the Upazila Administration to promote a more inclusive, barrier-free, equitable, safe, and humane Goalanda, where persons with disabilities can participate fully and contribute to the development of their community.

🤝 GUPUS believes that inclusive development is the foundation of sustainable development.

🌸 Courtesy Meeting and Exchange of Views with the Newly Appointed District Commissioner of Rajbari 🌸

On Tuesday, 12 May, representatives of Goalanda Upazila Protibondhi Unnayan Sangastha (GUPUS) paid a courtesy visit and exchanged views with the newly appointed District Commissioner of Rajbari, Mr. Abdus Salam.

The meeting was led by the President of GUPUS, Md. Ratan Sheikh. Also present were the organization's General Secretary Md. Munnab Sheikh, Chief Coordinator Md. Rakibul Islam, Treasurer Md. Rafiqul Islam, Organizational Secretary Md. Yunus Kha, Executive Committee Member Md. Shimul Sardar, along with other representatives of the organization.

During the meeting, fruitful discussions were held on the rights of persons with disabilities, inclusive development, welfare activities, and future collaborative initiatives.

🌸 Courtesy Meeting & Floral Greetings 🌸

During the official visit of Honorable Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Sheikh Robiul Alam, MP, to Rajbari, the leaders of Goalanda Upazila Protibondhi Unnayan Sangastha (GUPUS) paid a courtesy visit and extended floral greetings at the Rajbari Circuit House.

During the visit, Honorable State Minister Habibur Rashid Habib, MP, of the Ministry of Railways, Road Transport and Highways Division; District Commissioner of Rajbari Afroza Parveen; Superintendent of Police, Rajbari; Additional District Commissioners; Additional Superintendents of Police; River Police officials; senior officials of BIWTC and BIWTA; Upazila Nirbahi Officers of Goalanda and Shibalaya; Officers-in-Charge (OC) of Goalanda and Shibalaya; along with representatives from various departments, public representatives, and local leaders were present.

Representing GUPUS were President Md. Ratan Sheikh, Vice President Md. Siddik Sardar, General Secretary Md. Munnab Sheikh, Chief Coordinator and National Award-winning person with disability and organizer Md. Rakibul Islam, Treasurer Md. Rofiq, District Coordinator Md. Arif, Organizational Secretary Md. Yunus Kha, Executive Committee Member Md. Shimul Sardar, along with nearly one hundred persons with disabilities.

On this occasion, the Chief Coordinator of GUPUS handed over the organization profile and relevant documents to the Honorable Minister.

The Honorable Minister and senior officials listened attentively and patiently to the concerns of persons with disabilities and expressed their commitment to working for their welfare and inclusive development.
