Alhamdulillah!

Today marks a very special moment in my journey as a surgeon. I had the honor of performing my first cesarean section as the first surgeon, and by the grace of Allah we successfully delivered a healthy baby boy.

Seeing the newborn’s first cry and the smile on the parents faces made every moment of hard work, training, and sleepless nights truly worthwhile. Grateful to my mentors Dr Anjumura Munny Mam for guidance , colleagues, and the entire OT team for their support .

Medicine is not just a profession—it’s a privilege to bring new life safely into this world.

Scientists have successfully engineered the world's first 'universal' kidney by using enzymes to strip blood-type markers, potentially ending the life-threatening wait for matching organ donors.

In a groundbreaking medical trial, researchers from Canada and China have utilized specialized enzymes to strip the blood-type markers from a donated Type A kidney, effectively converting it into a 'universal' Type O organ. The modified kidney was transplanted into a brain-dead patient with family consent, where it functioned successfully for several days. This experiment marks a historic bridge between laboratory science and clinical care, proving that it is possible to 'cloak' an organ's identity to prevent immediate immune rejection due to blood-type incompatibility.

The implications for the global organ shortage are massive. Currently, 11 people die every day in the U.S. waiting for a kidney, and those with Type O blood often face the longest wait times because they can only receive organs from Type O donors. While this study noted that blood-type markers began to reappear by the third day, the significantly reduced immune response provides a roadmap for the future. Perfecting this technology could eliminate the need for costly immunosuppression and months of preparation, turning every donated kidney into a potential match for any patient on the waitlist.

🧬 A Hidden Organ Discovered in the Human Throat 🧬

In a stunning medical breakthrough, scientists have identified a previously unknown organ deep inside the human throat.

🔬 While studying cancer patients with advanced imaging technology, researchers accidentally detected a new pair of salivary glands located near the upper throat behind the nose. These glands — now called the tubarial glands — add a fourth major set to the three we’ve known for centuries: the parotid, submandibular, and sublingual glands.

💡 The tubarial glands are thought to play a vital role in lubricating and protecting the upper throat and nasal passages. Their discovery has huge medical significance: by avoiding damage to them during radiation therapy, doctors may prevent complications like chronic dry mouth and difficulty swallowing, improving patients’ quality of life.

🌍 Even in the 21st century, the human body continues to surprise us. This discovery is a powerful reminder that there are still hidden secrets in our anatomy, waiting to reshape science and medicine.
