Hands-On Course on Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery in Infertility - Alexandroupolis, Greece | 24–26 April 2026.
A highly successful three-day hands-on course on minimally invasive gynecological surgery in infertility with over thirty participants was held in Alexandroupolis, Greece, from 24 to 26 April 2026. The course was organized by the Democritus University of Thrace in collaboration with the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy (ISGE), bringing together an international faculty and participants for an intensive and practice-oriented learning experience.
The program combined focused expert lectures with hands-on training sessions, addressing key topics in fertility-preserving gynecologic surgery, including endometriosis, uterine pathology, intrauterine adhesions, fibroids, and borderline ovarian tumors. The opening session featured lectures on conservative management in endometrial cancer, fertility-sparing approaches in ovarian tumors, and the role of superficial endometriosis in infertility.
The following days emphasized hands-on laparoscopic training under expert supervision, complemented by lectures on laparoscopic management of uterine pathology, isthmocele and deep endometriosis, and hysteroscopic treatment of intrauterine adhesions. The final day integrated further practical training with sessions on fibroids, infertility, and endometrioma management, with particular attention to preservation of ovarian reserve.
This course clearly highlighted the importance of minimally invasive techniques and individualized surgical strategies in modern reproductive gynecology. The combination of high-quality teaching and structured hands-on experience provided participants with valuable skills directly applicable to clinical practice.
