We anchored the boat at 4:30am and didn't move for two hours.
The Pale Shadowdrifter was already there when the light arrived.
Perched on a mossy boulder at the edge of a rainforest stream — ghostly white, completely still, watching the water with those silver eyes like it had been doing it since before we were born.
We were 40 meters back. Locked off. The stream did the talking.
