“Do you remember the name of the tablets the last doctor you visited prescribed?”
If you’ve ever been asked that at a clinic, you know the feeling. You remember the colour. Maybe the shape. Definitely that it was “for your blood pressure.” But not the name.
So the doctor starts from scratch, repeats tests, or guesses.
This happens every day, in Botswana and across Africa. Not because doctors aren’t skilled, but because your health history is scattered: a file at one clinic, a card in a drawer at home, a prescription in a different hospital’s system or a pharmacy somewhere .
Your health information should belong to you, and it should follow you.
That’s why we’re building Botsogo Jwame (“My Health”).
Now I’d like to hear from you:
👉 What’s the most frustrating thing about keeping track of your own health records?
Tell us in the comments. We’re building this for you, and we’re listening.
