WE ARE HIRING: YOUTH OFFICER
The Botswana Family Welfare Association (BOFWA) is a nationally recognised non-governmental organisation and member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), with a longstanding mandate to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights for all Batswana. Driven by our commitment to leave no one behind, BOFWA delivers integrated Sexual Reproductive health and rights services, community outreach, and advocacy across Botswana placing special emphasis on reaching young people with the information, services, and support they need to lead healthy, informed, and empowered lives.
To strengthen our youth programming in line with our strategic objectives, we invite applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and passionate individuals for the position of Youth Officer, tenable at our office in Gaborone.
Location: Gaborone, Botswana
Reports to: Programs Manager

The role
Key responsibilities
• Design, implement, and monitor youth-focused sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programmes and outreach activities.
• Mobilise and engage young people, schools, and community groups to participate in BOFWA's youth services.
• Coordinate peer education initiatives and build the capacity of youth peer educators.
• Develop Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials tailored to young audiences.
• Collect, compile, and analyse programme data; prepare timely reports for management and donors.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with government departments, NGOs, and youth-serving organisations.
• Support adolescent-friendly service delivery at BOFWA clinics and outreach points.
• Represent BOFWA at national youth forums, workshops, and multi-stakeholder meetings.
What we require
Qualifications & experience
• Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Development Studies, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience working with youth programmes in an NGO or public-sector setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health issues.
• Proven experience in community mobilisation, facilitation, and peer education approaches.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Setswana.
• A valid driver's licence is an added advantage.
