WHEN YOUR ROOTS CALL YOU, ANSWER WITH DIGNITY
In this picture, I was not just an MC.
I was at Goo-Mpe,for MPE Family reunion.
The Kgotla — where our fathers sit. Where decisions are made. Where tradition lives.
And my uncles, my elders, said: "We trust you to hold the program for us."😍
Me ,a woman🤔 trusted to be the voice at the Kgotla.
I was honoured. I was humbled. I sat there in my German print and blanket and I knew: You can leave the village, but the village never leaves you.
Not that m bragging,BUT i am that kind...I Don't despise my village.
I am not too modern to be called by your uncles.
I can never be too busy to show up for my people.
The same hands that raised you will one day call you to lead.
Our education is not just for the city.
Our voice is not just for the office.
Our life is also for your Kgotla, your family, our roots.
When they trust you, show up. Show up dressed with respect. Show up with grace. Show up and hold it well.
Because honour is not given in boardrooms only — sometimes it is given on a wooden bench, under a tent, with a bottle of water next to you and the sun on your face.
I am a proud niece of GooMpe. And I was trusted. And I will never forget it.🙏
