A recent 2026 case study followed a 67-year-old man with hypertension who was struggling to sleep and waking about every two hours.

Researchers placed 5–8 drops of German chamomile essential oil in 70–100 mL of water in a humidifier, positioned about 50–100 cm from him, and ran it for 10–15 minutes before bedtime for three consecutive days. The result?

His sleep-quality score improved from 12 to 5. He went from waking every two hous to once during the night to sleeping through the night by day three. He also appeared more relaxed and refreshed.

That's a remarkable change from a remarkably simple intervention.
Now, this was one person over only three days, so it doesn't prove chamomile will produce the same results for everyone. The authors appropriately call for larger, controlled studies.

But it is another fascinating reminder that sometimes supporting the body's natural systems doesn't have to be complicated. https://scholar.google.com/scholar?start=0&q=aromatherapy&hl=en&scisbd=1&as_sdt=0,22 =gs_qabs&t=1787183990729&u=%23p%3DiGwz5D96wG8J

Every item on this whiteboard eventually pointed back to the same root layer: mineral deficiency and yeast overgrowth showing up as a dozen different diagnoses instead of one connected cause.

Environmental effects, intestinal toxemia, candidiasis, endocrine imbalance, depression, fibrositis, treated separately by separate specialists, when the underlying pattern was the same the whole time.

The solution that held up over decades of practice was nutrient sufficiency: restoring the minerals the body was missing and addressing yeast overgrowth at the source, rather than treating each symptom as its own isolated problem.

A preclinical model found that frankincense (B. sacra) essential oil and extracts improved bone marrow cells levels, spleen index, immune system function, and general health after exposure to chemicals that reduce bone marrow cells, spleen index, and immunity. These findings suggest frankincense may have a role in improving immune resilience, inflammatory regulation, tissue regeneration, protection against chemical agents, and recovery from systemic stress.
