In homeopathy, Staphysagria is associated with the emotional and physical effects of suppressed anger, grief, or boundary violations. It is suitable for those who are deeply sensitive emotionally and who tend to hold everything in rather than express anger openly.

This remedy is often considered for people who:
-suppress anger to avoid conflict
- feel wounded by criticism, rejection or harsh treatment
- have experienced grief, disappointment or emotional shock
- are gentle, sensitive and easily affected emotionally
- replay upsetting events over and over internally
- feel there are “things left unsaid”

Homeopaths also associate Staphysagria with physical symptoms that appear after emotional upset, stress or indignation, including:

• tension headaches
•surgical or cut wounds
•digestive disturbances
• sleep disruption
• emotional exhaustion
•recurrent urinary tract infections
• bladder or hormonal sensitivities
•recurring eyelid styes
• symptoms that began after grief, conflict or emotional trauma

In homeopathy, emotional wellbeing and physical wellbeing are closely connected. Sometimes the body speaks the emotions we have been unable to express.
Of course, every person is unique, and homeopathic prescribing is individualised. remedies are selected based on the whole person and their personal symptom picture.

Sepia: The Remedy of Overwhelm, Exhaustion & Emotional Withdrawal
Sepia is often described as the remedy for people who feel drained from giving too much for too long. It carries the picture of someone who has poured their energy into caring, supporting, and holding everything together — until their own well runs dry.

The Emotional Tone
Sepia resonates with states of:
- Feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities
- Becoming irritable, snappy, or easily annoyed
- Wanting space, solitude, or emotional distance
- Feeling “flat,” indifferent, or disconnected from loved ones
- A sense of burden, as though everything is “too much”
It’s not that the person doesn’t care — it’s that they’ve been caring non‑stop, and their system is signalling depletion.

The Physical Expression
People in a Sepia state often describe:
- Low energy or heaviness
- A sense of being “dragged down”
- Tension in the pelvic or abdominal area
- A desire to move — dancing, running, or vigorous exercise can temporarily lift the mood
- Feeling better for warmth, rest, or being left alone

The Inner Experience
Sepia’s inner world often includes:
- Feeling emotionally overloaded
- A need to withdraw to protect one’s inner space
- Irritation at demands, even from people they love
- A sense of losing themselves in roles and responsibilities

Who might relate to the Sepia picture?
People who:
- Carry the emotional load of a household
- Feel responsible for everyone
- Have been “strong” for too long
- Experience burnout from caregiving, parenting, or constant giving
Sepia speaks to the person who says:
“I’m exhausted. I need a break. I need myself back.”

A gentle reminder
This is a general remedy profile, not a diagnosis or treatment plan. Homeopathy looks at the whole person, and remedy selection is individualised.

CHRONIC FATIGUE-A CASE OF NAUTILUS

Nautilus is small and relatively new remedy, therefore it is seldom prescribed. In terms of remedy picture, it is a cross between Sepia and Nat Mur or Aqua, where these remedies have not helped or only partially.
There is a lot of depression and physical fatigue in Nautilus, a great work ethic, happy when able to work and very opinionated, very strong but without the snappish tongue of Sepia or the deep emotions of Nat Mur.
Nautilus also helps with female hormones, sleep issues.
I have recently seen a patient for possibly the last session after six months treatment program; her chronic fatigue, insomnia and depression have greatly improved and she can now go on under her own steam.

More good news for homeopathy...

As of December 2023, Austria now requires "optimal use of antibiotics" (defined as minimal and only emergency use of antibiotics) and REQUIRES the use of HOMEOPATHY and phytotherapy in organic farms in preference to treatment with chemically synthesized allopathic veterinary medicinal products, including antibiotics.

Important new research on homeopathy as nanomedicine.

In a recently published paper, research using a Nano Tracking Analyzer (NTA) to examine dilutions of a commonly used homeopathic medicine, an insoluble metal, Cuprum metallicum, for the presence of particles was cunducted. The homeopathic medicines tested were specially prepared according to the European pharmacopoeia standards. Researches compared homeopathic dilutions/dynamizations with simple dilutions and controls including a soluble medicine.

Their findings?
"Homeopathic medicines do contain material with a specific size distribution even in high potencies diluted beyond the Avogadro/Loschmidt limit. This specificity can be attributed to the manufacturing and potentization process."
