Belleville & Quinte West Community Health Centre

Belleville & Quinte West Community Health Centre Belleville & Quinte West Community Health Centre is a non-profit providing primary care, mental health services, and community programs.

We’re dedicated to building healthy, inclusive communities where everyone feels they belong. The Centre operates in two locations: one in Belleville and the other in Quinte West/Trenton. Services are available to everyone. Young families, children and single mothers, youth, seniors, people living in poverty and those who sometimes have difficulty getting health care are especially welcome. Our pro

grams and services include primary health care, health and wellness promotion, and disease and illness prevention. Keeping people well, and keeping communities healthy, is what Ontario’s Community Health Centres are all about. And our focus is on equity – helping people and populations who face barriers to health and health services to get those services and achieve good health. The Centre works in partnership with other healthcare and community organizations in the area to help people in need. We’re focused on the community. As community needs change, the services offered by the Centre will change.

Today, September 10th, is World Su***de Prevention Day.

At the Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centre, we believe that connection matters. A conversation, a check-in, or simply making space for someone to feel heard can help build a community where people feel supported and less alone.

Changing the narrative around su***de means moving away from silence and stigma and toward openness, compassion, understanding, and hope. We all have a role to play. By talking about mental health, checking in with the people around us, and reminding one another that it’s okay to reach out for support.

Tonight at 8pm, people around the world are invited to light a candle in support of su***de prevention, in memory of those we have lost, and in recognition of survivors and those impacted by su***de.

If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of su***de, call or text 9-8-8 anywhere in Canada, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Every conversation matters. Every connection matters. 💛

📢 PROGRAM UPDATE: Hope Grows Here

Due to low registration, our Hope Grows Here gathering scheduled for tomorrow, September 10, has been cancelled.

While we won’t be gathering together in person, tomorrow is still World Su***de Prevention Day. It's an important reminder of the power of connection, compassion, and making space for honest conversations about mental health and su***de.

If tomorrow feels particularly difficult, or if you’re worried about someone in your life, support is available. You do not have to wait until things feel like a crisis to reach out.

💛 9-8-8 Su***de Crisis Helpline — Call or text 9-8-8, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

💛 Quinte Health Mental Health & Crisis Services — Call 1-888-757-7766 or visit https://quintehealth.ca/care-service/mental-health-services/mental-health-and-crisis-services

💛 CMHA Hastings Prince Edward — Walk-in support is available at 250 Sidney St., Suite 101, Belleville on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. No appointment is required. Call 613-967-4734 for information.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Please take gentle care of yourself and one another tomorrow. Hope can start with one conversation, one connection, or one person reminding you that support is available.
