Today, September 10th, is World Su***de Prevention Day.
At the Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centre, we believe that connection matters. A conversation, a check-in, or simply making space for someone to feel heard can help build a community where people feel supported and less alone.
Changing the narrative around su***de means moving away from silence and stigma and toward openness, compassion, understanding, and hope. We all have a role to play. By talking about mental health, checking in with the people around us, and reminding one another that it’s okay to reach out for support.
Tonight at 8pm, people around the world are invited to light a candle in support of su***de prevention, in memory of those we have lost, and in recognition of survivors and those impacted by su***de.
If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of su***de, call or text 9-8-8 anywhere in Canada, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Every conversation matters. Every connection matters. 💛
