Lotus Root and Restore Botanicals

Lotus Root and Restore Botanicals Small-batch herbal bath teas handcrafted with calming botanicals, oats, and herbs rooted in traditional practices. Hello & welcome! I wanted something different.

Created with intention to support relaxation, nourish the body and mind, and invite moments of gentle self-care. My name is Claire, and I’m the creator behind Lotus Root & Restore Botanicals. As a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and herbalist, I’ve always been drawn to the calming, restorative nature of botanicals and simple wellness rituals. These bath teas were created by combining that knowledge with my own desire for gentler, more intentional self-care. For a long time, I struggled to find bath products that truly felt calming and nourishing. Many bath bombs and heavily scented products were simply too strong for me — the fragrances would irritate my skin, overwhelm my senses, and often leave behind a mess that took away from the experience altogether. These herbal bath teas were thoughtfully created to offer a gentler kind of ritual — one rooted in the traditions of botanicals, herbs, and the calming principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Every blend is handcrafted with carefully selected herbs chosen not only for their beauty, but for the way they help create moments of rest, comfort, and restoration. There are no overpowering fragrances, harsh ingredients, or artificial scents — just simple botanicals designed to soften the body, quiet the mind, and turn an ordinary bath into a peaceful ritual. Thank you so much for being here and supporting this small business. I’m so excited to share these creations with you !

Calendula is one of those beautiful botanicals I love incorporating into my bath teas.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, calendula isn’t a traditional Chinese herb, but it has a long history in Western herbalism, where it’s been cherished for its gentle approach to skin care.

As a TCM practitioner, I love exploring the traditions behind the botanicals I use and being intentional about what goes into each blend. For me, it’s about bringing together the beauty of nature, herbal traditions, and the simple ritual of slowing down.

Fall has arrived and your skin may start to notice the change.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Autumn is associated with the Lungs — which are said to govern the skin and body hair.

As the seasons shift, temperatures drop and the air becomes drier — and our skin can feel the effects too.

Dryness, tightness, roughness and sensitivity can become more noticeable as we move into the cooler months.

This is a beautiful time to turn toward warmth, nourishment and gentle self-care.

A warm botanical bath ritual can be a beautiful way to care for your skin during the seasonal transition, helping to soften and hydrate the skin while creating a moment to slow down, soften, and reconnect.

Because when the seasons change, our self-care can change with them.

Getting back into my routines.

September is that time of year for me to reset as the summer begins to wind down.

Back to routines. Back to taking care of myself. Back to making space for the things that make me feel grounded.

For me, that looks a little like this — sauna, cold plunge, quiet time, and remembering that self-care doesn’t always have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s just giving yourself permission to slow down for a little while.

What does your self-care routine look like?
