Tick season reminder 🌿
If you find a tick, the general guidance is to use clean fine-point tweezers, grasp close to the skin, pull straight out slowly, and clean the area afterward. Try not to twist, squeeze, burn, or cover the tick with products.
After removal, monitor the area and how you’re feeling over the next few days and weeks.
Symptoms to watch for may include:
• an expanding rash, including a bull’s-eye rash or bruise-like rash
• fever or chills
• fatigue
• headache
• muscle or joint aches
• swollen lymph nodes
• feeling generally unwell
Symptoms can vary from person to person. Public Health Agency of Canada and Ontario both note that symptoms can include rash, fever/chills, fatigue, headache, swollen lymph nodes, and muscle or joint pain.
Save this post for tick season. calm, simple steps can make a stressful moment feel much more manageable.
Care&Co does not provide tick removal appointments at this time, but we do want our community to feel informed and prepared if they find one.
