Today, a brand-new school year is beginning.

To every child walking through the school doors today:
You don't have to know everything yet.
You don't have to be the fastest, the loudest, or the best.
It's okay to ask for help. It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to take your time finding where you belong.

Be curious. Be kind. Include the child standing on the outside. Sit beside someone new. Ask questions, and laugh often.

Here's to new friendships, brave beginnings, lessons learned, mistakes made, belly laughs, growing confidence and a school year filled with moments they'll remember.

Have a beautiful first day, kids.
You've got an entire year of possibilities waiting for you.

Have you ever experienced numbness or tingling in your arm or fingers, aching through your neck and shoulder, or weakness that seems to worsen when reaching overhead?

It may be more than just "tight muscles."

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) occurs when the nerves or blood vessels that travel between the collarbone and first rib become compressed.

While it can be frustrating, understanding the condition is the first step toward finding relief.

Massage therapy can often be a valuable part of a comprehensive treatment plan by helping to reduce muscle tension, improve mobility, and support healthy posture. Every person is different, so it's important to work with your healthcare team to determine the approach that's right for you.

Please take a moment to read through today's infographic and learn more about the signs, causes, and treatment options.

Remember... Pain is your body's way of asking for attention—not something you simply have to live with.

If you've been struggling with symptoms or have questions about whether massage therapy may be beneficial, I'd be happy to chat and help guide you in the right direction.

Rest is not something you have to earn.

In a world that celebrates busy, productive, and always doing more, choosing to slow down can feel uncomfortable—but your body, mind, and soul need moments of stillness too.

Rest is not giving up.
Rest is not falling behind.
Rest is part of taking care of you.

Today, give yourself permission to soften, breathe, and simply be.
You are allowed to rest 🧡

Back to School Means Back to Backpacks!

As our kids head back to the classroom, a few simple backpack habits can make a big difference in how their growing bodies feel.

A backpack that is too heavy or worn incorrectly can contribute to sore shoulders, neck and back discomfort, headaches, and poor posture. The good news? Small adjustments — like using both straps, keeping the load light, and packing heavier items close to the body — can help.

Before the school year starts and gets busy, take a few minutes to check your child’s backpack fit and weight using the tips below.

Because healthy little bodies are better able to learn, play, explore, and grow.

Save this post for your back-to-school checklist —and feel free to share it with another family!

There is something quietly beautiful about the approach of autumn.
The mornings become a little cooler.
The sunsets linger a little longer.
The prairie begins to trade its vibrant greens for warm golds, deep ambers, and rich browns.

Nature reminds us that change isn't something to fear.
It's something to embrace.

For many of us, fall stirs emotions we can't always explain.
It can bring a sense of nostalgia.
A desire to slow down.
A longing to gather with the people we love.
It may also bring reflection, gratitude, or even the realization that we're ready to let go of something we've been carrying for far too long.

Just as the trees release their leaves without resistance, perhaps this season invites us to ask ourselves...
What am I ready to release?
What has served me well?
What new chapter is quietly waiting to begin?

Autumn reminds us that letting go is not an ending.
It creates space for renewal.
I believe every season has something to teach us.

This fall, may you give yourself permission to rest a little more, breathe a little deeper, and trust that change can be both gentle and beautiful.

The prairie knows that every season has its purpose.
Perhaps... so do we.

Some decisions happen quickly.

And others quietly grow inside you for a long time, until one day you realize… you’re ready.

Today, I am incredibly excited — and a little emotional — to share that I will now be dedicating myself full-time to Wild Ridge Wellness.

For more than a decade, massage therapy and Reiki has been a part of my life. I have had the privilege of sitting with people through pain, stress, healing, exhaustion, change, and sometimes simply that moment when their body finally gets permission to rest.

Wild Ridge has slowly grown from an idea into something that means more to me than I can put into words.

I never wanted to build a business that felt rushed, clinical, or focused on getting as many people through the door as possible.

I wanted to create a place where you could arrive exactly as you are.

A place where appointments aren't hurried.
Where quiet is welcome.
Conversation is welcomed.
Where your body is listened to.
Where rest doesn't have to be earned.
And where caring for yourself can simply be part of your life.

Making the decision to step fully into Wild Ridge wasn't something I took lightly. But I know in my heart that it is time.

Wild Ridge Wellness is no longer something I am building around the edges of everything else.
It gets my full attention now.

My hands. My heart. My experience. My creativity.
And all of the dreams I have been quietly holding for what this space can become.

This means:
-more massage availability
-more flexibility for appointments,
and
- more opportunities to grow the services, gatherings, education, and community that I have envisioned for Wild Ridge.

And through all of that growth, I want Wild Ridge to remain what it was always meant to be:
Small enough to feel personal. Warm enough to feel like home. And grounded enough that when you walk through the door, you can exhale.

To every person who has booked an appointment, shared a post, recommended me to a friend, encouraged an idea, or simply followed along while I built this dream…
Thank you.
You have helped Wild Ridge get here.

I don't know exactly what every part of this next chapter will look like yet.
But I know I'm ready for it. Wild Ridge Wellness is officially my full-time home.
And I cannot wait to see what we build together.

Welcome to Wild Ridge. There is a place for you here.

Understanding Plantar Fasciitis

Do your first few steps in the morning make you wince?

Does your heel ache after standing all day or spending hours on your feet?

You may be experiencing plantar fasciitis—one of the most common causes of heel pain.

Our feet carry us through every season of life, yet they're often one of the last parts of our bodies we think to care for. Pain is your body's way of asking for attention, not something you simply have to "push through."

Small, consistent steps can make a big difference: -Gentle stretching
-Supportive footwear
- Rest when needed
- Massage and bodywork
- Gradual strengthening
-Mindful movement

At Wild Ridge Wellness, I believe healing begins by listening to your body with kindness. Whether you're on your feet all day, enjoy hiking the prairie, or simply want to move with greater comfort, you're worthy of care.

Remember...
Your feet carry you through your life. Treat them with the same care they give you every day.

If heel pain has been slowing you down, I'd be honoured to help you explore options that may support your comfort and mobility as part of your overall wellness journey.
