There is a lot of talk about regulating your nervous system these days. Most people think regulation means feeling calm.

But before you can regulate your nervous system, you have to learn to recognize it. You can't change patterns you don't notice.

To me, regulation isn't about feeling calm all the time. It's about building the capacity to stay with yourself through the full range of your experience.

Over five weeks we'll explore nervous system foundations, somatic awareness, survival responses and embodied integration.

Our next Somatic Sessions series begins this Thursday at Yoga Passage with Lindsay .soul

If you've been curious about somatic work, this is where I'd start.

I often find myself hiding behind what's comfortable.
The truth is, comfort isn't where I grow. It's not where I learn and it's definitely not where I'm meant to share from.
Yesterday I launched something that felt safe.
It looked beautiful. It made sense. It was easy to understand. But every time I looked at it something in me got loud, this isn't it.
I've spent years healing the parts of me that believed I had to shrink, soften or become more palatable to be accepted. I'm not interested in building a business from that place.
So I deleted it.
Not because I don't believe in the work. If anything, I believe in it even more.
SOMA/MTHD was never meant to feel polished and predictable. It's meant to feel like remembrance. Like returning to yourself, stepping into the parts of you that have been waiting to be seen.
I'm learning to trust that when something feels out of alignment I don't have to force it. I can pause, listen and create from a place that feels like the real me.
The truth is, I don't fear failure anymore. I've made space for it because I know that's where growth lives.
What I fear is allowing my authenticity take up space, and then not being chosen when I give myself permission to be Seen.
So... the real question isn't what if i fall?
It's what if I fly? 🦋
So let's find out, together
🖤
