So Xmas came a lil early this year for us as Wade was scheduled to have an echo done in Jan (6 month post diagnosis of severe heart failure), they had an opening 2 weeks ago and we finally got the results this morning from it!!! While he’s still technically in heart failure, the meds are working spectacularly and his ejection fraction has come up to 48% from 15%! I’m thru the roof with excitement! Merry Christmas everyone!

Watch out for this guy driving a new red 4 door truck ( golden lab passenger) He clipped my drivers mirror in the melcor parking lot then slammed his door into the vehicle next to him trying to get out of his truck If you can’t park it. Don’t drive it. Maybe invest in a smart car. Picture of his truck in comments!

Well Wade isn’t doing great today. We came to see the cardiologist today and they are admitting him back into the hospital ❤️‍🩹☹️

Tomorrow we see the cardiologist who’s in charge of Wade’s care. Hopefully he’s allowed to start his supervised/monitored exercise program next week! Either way I shall post an update on how he’s doing after our apt in the morning 😶

So Wade and I have been busy trying to figure out what the next steps are as he’s not responding as well as they hoped to all the medications! We were supposed to start cardio rehab tomorrow where we would walk a track up at the university while they monitored his heart rate and blood pressure but the heart function clinic postponed his start date until after our next clinic date which is sept 11. We have also been referred to the mechanical support clinic (severe heart failure clinic in Calgary) which we will be attending clinic at the end of November and discussing our options of an LVAD as a bridge to transplant or as a long term solution! Either way it’s looking like Wade’s gonna have open heart surgery and I will be able to say I plug my husband in to the wall!😥

So we haven’t had much to post about since we got back from camping as Wade’s been basically sleeping 20 hours a day for the last 10 days! He gained 9 lbs of water weight which warranted a visit to the heart function clinic to see what’s going on . Numerous blood tests, a chest xray and another cardiac echo to see what’s going on and now we’re referred up to the advanced heart function clinic in Calgary.

I've been meaning to post an update but i was out of service area for a couple days as we were enjoying the mountain air and the company of friends as we didn't get to go on our holidays as Wade was hospitalized.
So, we don;t really have much to update on his condition other than he is still in heart failure and were being optimistic that these medications will improve his heart function and increase his LVEF to above 35% by early november to avoid being put onto the heart transplant list!

sitting at the hospital with wade... Nothing big, he just had some stomach pain and noticed a bulge that wasnt there before and with everything going on we thought be better have it checked as hes had stomach issues in the past. doctor said it felt like maybe a hernia but didnt show anything on the ultrasound. boy oh boy, this chicky is ready for my pillow, bed and snuggle up with wade for a lil nappy.

Today Wade was exhausted and slept most of the day, hence why im up at this time! Our lil Gibson hasn;t left Wade's side all day... not even to go outside, wade had to go out onto the back deck just to get him out the door but wouldnt go without dad next to him. i couldnt even tempt him with duck liver treats
