Hi! I’m Jodi, a licensed aesthetician with 20 years of experience and the owner of Spirit Over Ego, my private home-based beauty suite in Calmar, Alberta.

I’ve intentionally built my business a little differently.

Rather than working from a traditional salon or storefront, I work from a dedicated beauty space in my home. This allows me to keep my overhead lower and offer my clients fair, affordable pricing without compromising the quality of my products, services, education or care.

PRIVATE • PERSONAL • FLEXIBLE

As a mom, I build my appointment schedule around my children, school and extracurricular activities, so Spirit Over Ego is appointment-only.

But appointment-only does not mean limited hours!

Depending on the day, I can accommodate:

Morning • Afternoon • Evening • Weekend Appointments

I try to be as flexible as possible and work with each client to find a time that works for both of us.

My goal has always been to create a space that feels comfortable, relaxed and personal, where you receive one-on-one attention without the rush or atmosphere of a busy salon.

Being home-based allows me to put my investment where I believe it matters most:

☀️ SUMMERTIME SLOWDOWN… BUT BUSY BEHIND THE SCENES ✨

I’ve been a little quieter around here lately, but that doesn’t mean things haven’t been happening behind the scenes at Spirit Over Ego. 🖤

Summer has been a season of slowing down where I can, learning, creating, upgrading my skills, and quietly getting ready for what’s next.

Between spray tans, lashes, brows and all the usual beauty goodness, I’ve also been busy expanding into permanent makeup, fine line tattooing, paramedical scar camouflage and saline tattoo removal. ✨

Sometimes growth isn’t loud. Sometimes it happens quietly in the background while you’re building something new.

And there’s definitely more coming. 🔮✨

For now, I’m enjoying the last stretch of summer and getting very excited for what fall is bringing to Spirit Over Ego by Jodi. 🖤

Life lately has been giving “plot twist every 3–5 business days” energy. 😂🤦‍♀️

But apparently my coping mechanism is… professional development. 💅🏻

While life has been doing whatever the hell this is, I’ve been quietly working behind the scenes, upgrading my skills, adding certifications, learning new services and continuing to build Spirit Over Ego.

Because if chaos thinks I’m going to sit quietly in the corner, it has clearly never met me. 😂

There have definitely been days when simply keeping my s**t together deserved its own certificate. 🏆😂

But through all of it, I’ve kept learning. Kept creating. Kept showing up. Kept moving forward.

Maybe not always gracefully. Sometimes fueled by tea, questionable amounts of caffeine and pure stubbornness… but forward is forward. 😏

So while my personal life has been under construction, apparently so has my business.

And I’m pretty damn excited about what’s coming next. 🖤✨
