What Allostatic Overload Actually Looks Like
So many of us are carrying allostatic overload the cumulative wear of a nervous system that has been "on" for way too long, with no real recovery in between.
Here's what that can look like in the body and mind:
🔹 Waking up tired no matter how much sleep we got
🔹 A racing mind at 2am, an exhausted body at 2pm
🔹 A tight jaw, shallow breath, shoulders living up by the ears
🔹 Snapping at people we love, then feeling it later, alone
🔹 Feeling "fine" until suddenly we're not
🔹 A body that holds tension like it's protecting us because it is
This isn't weakness. This is biology. Our bodies keep score of every deadline, every hard season, every time we pushed through instead of pausing.
It might not feel like it but it can be repaired. Not by trying harder. By coming back into the body, on purpose, together, consistently.
If any of this feels familiar you're not broken. You may be overloaded. There's a difference, and it matters.
